Hi,
Looking for some advice and comments on insulating an old 1960's UK bungalow, specifically the loft area which has been split and one side converted into a dormer room.
Essentially one side is the old loft area, and the other was converted and is the older style dormer room (pic attached).
Dormer room - I intend to strip it back to the rafters and install celetex in the walls prior to plasterboard and skimming.

Hi,
I'm looking to hang a heavy mirror on a plasterboard wall.
The mirror is 6kg and the fixing is basically a strap attached to the centre of the mirror (see image below) so I guess I could hang the strap on multiple fixings side-by-side to spread the load.
Does anyone have any advice on whether this is even worth attempting and if so, how?
Having read a similar post on this forum, I contacted Fischer (fixings) to see if they had any advice but they haven't replied.
Thanks in advance...

Hi all, I need to get a metal curtain pole up over the doors in my conservatory. The length is around 8 foot. The problem is that there is an rsj right above the door and I can only drill in for about 20mm. I did put one up, but after few days it's come down. Any ideas to fix it back ..read more

I am hoping someone can give me some advice... I am wanting to install a dado rail and paneling that starts off at the entrance hallway, up the stairs and on to my landing.
The problem im having is where to terminate the dado rail on the stairs wall. Under normal circumstances youd follow the stairs up and then round on the landing but because my stairs are set back on to the landing this makes it very odd.
The yellow scribble is where the dado would sit if i measured 1000mm from the floor...
