A-10 Warthogs, the plane that will not die, are being sent to assist Israel in its time of need.
The USAF has been trying to get rid of the plane for years. Yet, here we see them again being put in combat zones. There is something to be said about these recent actions by the Zoomies.
I understand 10 Ukrainian pilots have been qualified to fly the Warthog. Word is we might give them a few to knock out Russian positions, just as they were intended to do ions ago. I'd like to see them...

Taking a page from the Vietnam War, the Ukrainians have now adopted the Wild Weasel tactics to help destroy Russian targeting radar.
Using a MIG29 or SU27 the UAF flies into areas know to have enemy radar. When the targeting radar gets turned on and before it locks on to the MIG, the Ukies launch a HARM missile destroying the radar station.
The HARM missiles are provided by the USA and happily paid for by American taxpayers.
Ukie pilots with large gonads fly the mission. But then all...

I am 26 and am just about done through MEPS (pending med clearance) looking to join the Washington ANG and am wondering if I could bug any past or current TACP's or Combat Controllers about their experiences and pro/cons of doing this line of work. My recruiter is not totally clear with all the TACP program has to offer and is about the same with the Combat Control side as well. Other than...

In 1970 my best friend was killed in a head on trying to get back to base late at night. The next day his vehicle and photos from the crash scene were being displayed at the base entrance and instructions from the base commander to every unit were sent out for all personnel to go and look at the car and photos. It was bad.
I've heard from a few other Vets that this seemed to be policy at every base during that time period. Has anyone else here had this experience? I was stationed at Grissom...

Veterans are a group of individuals who have agreed to sacrifice their safety, lives, and economic security for our nation. Veterans are extremely underpaid for the 24-7-365 global commitment. Many veterans have student loans. Now is the time to help veterans get out from under student loan debt.
I created a facebook group dedicated to eliminating or reducing student loan debt for US military veterans. The goal is for either outright forgiveness, or the transfer of the GI Bill to repay...
