VAF Forums

I'm going to replace one of the flare fittings on the fuel tank of my -10. It's NPT on one side and flare on the other. I have all of the sealants ever recommended on VAF and a host of others . What is the current recommended sealant for the pipe threads? Some have said fuel lube, others Locktite 567 etc. -Marc ..read more

Andair FS2020 duplex fuel selector + IO-390-EXP119

Andair's website says their FS2020 duplex fuel valve for 3/8" fuel lines is good for engines up to 200hp. Their larger FS2520 valve uses 1/2" fuel lines. The IO-390-EXP119 is 215hp. The RV-14 appears to use 3/8" fuel lines for all approved engines. I plan to use SDS electronic fuel injection and ignition with an IO-390-EXP119. Is it safe to assume that the FS2020 and 3/8" fuel lines would be appropriate for this configuration despite the 200hp limit, or might there be an issue with the... Read more ..read more

I know vans is fighting some internal struggles right now, but it isn’t gonna get better unless they can also improve their customer service. I placed an order 3 days ago, and I need the parts quick, so I paid $40 for 2 day shipping. It doesn’t do any good to pay for quick shipping if they don’t fill the order for 3 days. Customer service is lacking ..read more

The engine has now finally shipped but there is a problem with the prop. MT will only release the Prop if VAT is payed as Vans is a US company. So far so good…. However, Vans will n o t supply us with the invoice that includes the payed VAT. The prop will be sent straight from Germany to another country within Europe (both in the EU). If we don’t receive an... Read more ..read more
