Junk food is known for causing acne. Thankfully I've never had acne. But - then again - I don't touch junk food, like crisps or sweets. But your success story is wonderful: I am sure you've given people with acne hope. Because food does affect the skin: it affects the whole body. I am glad for you. I hope many people find inspiration to know their acne CAN be controlled: even eradicated. If I were to never have acne you would not catch me looking through threads about acne, I would not have a care in the world ahhh you're so lucky Statistics: Posted by henry_10 — Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:19 pm ..read more

Gradually reducing the dosage can help minimize potential side effects, so I say that you are taking the best course if you want to get off the pill, your body will also not be shocked and will be able to transition more smoothly Statistics: Posted by henry_10 — Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:14 pm ..read more

Introducing new things into your routine can change your acne's reaction to it, since you've recently reintroduced the La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat moisturizer with salicylic acid, it's possible that your skin is reacting to it. I'd say that the best action plan in any scenario is to consult a dermatologist, they might take a sample and give you an accurate pin pointed diagnostic Statistics: Posted by henry_10 — Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:01 pm ..read more

Yes, many individuals have attempted to use essential oils to alleviate acne. Essential oils like tea tree oil, lavender oil, and rosemary oil are often touted for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, potentially helpful for acne treatment. However, scientific evidence supporting their efficacy is mixed, and they can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some individuals. While some people may find relief from acne symptoms with essential oils, it's essential to consult with a dermatologist before incorporating them into a skincare regimen to ensure safety and effect ..read more

It makes sense. My guess is you CAN wean yourself off the combined pill. Your approach makes sense. And you're certainly right not to go cold turkey. Weaning yourself off the combined pill is a sensible decision. Statistics: Posted by MissCandyGirl — Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:38 am ..read more

Hi, Does anyone know if you can safely wean off the combined pill? I have read online that other people that had acne before they started the combined pill, weaned off of it and their break outs weren't as bad as when they stopped 'cold turkey' before. I have generally only seen people post about this from the US and wondered if it was actually safe to do so? To wean, I would cut a quarter off the pill the first month, then cut off half the second month and cut off three quarters the following month until I wasn't on it at all. Hope that makes sense! Many thanks, Lauren Statistics: Posted by l ..read more

Pollen itself does not directly cause acne. Acne is primarily caused by excess oil production, clogged pores, and bacteria. However, pollen can exacerbate acne in individuals with allergies, leading to increased inflammation and potential breakouts. Maintaining a consistent skincare routine and managing allergy symptoms can help minimize the impact of pollen on acne-prone skin. Agreed. A quick-fix is to find a concealing foundation to cover up your acne. I KNOW that doesn't solve your problem but will at least offer less embarrassment. There are specialized foundations for acne-prone skin: these are the mother of all foundations and won't cause further skin issues, like flareups. Do Google it. You will have to be prepared to pay a fair cost, though: maybe from £20 to £30, or thereabouts. Statistics: Posted by MissCandyGirl — Wed Mar 20, 2024 3:17 pm ..read more
