Earth Defense Force 6: Steam Players Encounter ‘Buggy’ Issues!
The Geek

This phrase can be used in more ways than one, but this time we’re not talking about what’s happening in the game, but what’s happening outside of it!   Yesterday, Earth Defense Force 6 was released in the West (it’s already out in Japan in 2022), but on Steam, things aren’t going quite as Sandlot and D3 Publisher would expect. Valve’s digital platform is seeing a lot of negative reviews (something Take-Two is worried about, as we wrote earlier this week), and currently only 40% of the 2123 reviews are positive, barely reaching the mixed category! Why all the negative feedback for Earth D ..read more

American Actors’ Union Demands Video Game Strike!

SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) has called a strike beginning July 26 because they think it’s amazing that game development studios have learned NOTHING from what happened last year!   The SAG-AFTRA National Board voted unanimously earlier this week to authorize its chief negotiator to call an immediate strike to protect voice actors fighting for job security as more studios explore generative artificial intelligence. National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, acting under delegated authority from SAG-AFT ..read more

Three Major Games Absent from Gamescom!
The Geek
by Angyal Anikó

All three games have a lot of gamers waiting for them, so there’s no point in trying to convince the publishers, as they’re adamant…   These three games are scheduled for release sometime in the fall, and with Gamescom in August, you’d think they’d get a playable demo, but don’t count on it. Both Electronic Arts and Paradox Interactive (the latter of which we’ll come back to in the news later today) are keeping Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 at Gamescom. Konami is the third oddity: they’re keeping quiet about Silent Hill 2 Remake, even though it’s not ..read more

How S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is Emulating Cyberpunk 2077 [VIDEO]

GSC Game World is almost starting to outline the same story for its game before its release as CD Projekt RED did four years ago.   We can’t even count the number of times the Polish studio delayed Cyberpunk 2077, and even then the first-person adventure still made it to the stores in a very poor state (and was temporarily removed from the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store). The situation with GSC Game World is a bit different, however, as the Ukrainian studio’s plans were first disrupted by the Russian invasion and war, and they had to move their headquarters to a safer country. Crytek is giving its game a major update, bringing a return to the 19th century and a new version of the engine, but not everyone will get to experience it!   In the next chapter of Hunt, players will be able to take part in a whole new experience as we jump forward in time and head west from the bayou backwaters to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The first map, Mammon’s Gulch, introduces a vast and detailed new biome that places Hunters in the shadow of the mighty Colorado Mountains. Adding the element of increased verticality and a host of new tactical vantage points, the peaks tower o ..read more

The Geek

Davide Soliani has been with the French publisher for 25 years, so he’s definitely a loyal guy when it comes to his job.   The Italian game designer is best known for Mario + Rabbids, but there’s more to his name than that. The creative director has announced on social media that he’s embarking on a brand new adventure, but he hasn’t given any details yet: “Hello everyone. After 25 years, 11 of which have been spent working with Nintendo on Mario+Rabbids alongside our incredible community of players, I have decided to leave Ubisoft to embark on a new adventure. There’s nothing more I can ..read more

Microsoft’s subscription service could be adding another major game soon, and since the last rumor about it was partially true, it’s probably not just a rumor.   What was the previous rumor? It was that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III would be coming to Xbox Game Pass on July 24th. That has happened, but not yet that the console version of Valorant will be coming on July 26, which will also be available to subscribers. Those two games were written by a Spanish insider, eXtas1s, editor of eXputer, and now he’s named another game that he says will make its way to the Redmond tech giant’s s ..read more

Romantic Depths of Baldur’s Gate 3 Inspire a Game of a Different Genre!

Nothing is more proof of the success of Larian’s game than the fact that it inspired a game of a completely different genre, so they can’t say a bad word about Baldur’s Gate 3…   Warframe’s next big story update, 1999, will bring a lot of new stuff, and of course, as the name suggests, Digital Extremes’ game will not miss out on the 90s. One thing we weren’t expecting was a romance system, so any member of Protoframe’s new alliance, Hex, can be paired with your character as the story progresses. Rebecca Ford, the game’s creative director, spoke about this in an interview with GamesRadar ..read more

TECH NEWS – In the future imagined by Mark Zuckerberg, something is happening that could, at first glance, be called Skynet.   Meta has released a new open source artificial intelligence model with 405 billion parameters. It’s called Llama 3.1, and it’s supposed to be the largest open source model. Zuck, of course, has started marketing it on YouTube, including appearances on Bloomberg and Rowan Cheung, and says it is the most sophisticated open source model anyone has released, and can compete with several leading closed models, and in some areas Llama can even be called the frontrunner ..read more
