Hi! I'm Lynn and one of my favorite memories as a little girl is, one day my mom sewed me a new pair of pajamas, then took me to fabric shops and sewed a matching pair of my Barbie. I thought that was the nearest thing in the world. Here, at DIY Barbie Blog I'll share simple ideas hoping you can help build special childhood memories too.

Just popping in to let everyone know that my Barbie posts have moved back to my original blog (of almost 14 years) Happier Than A Pig In Mud. Anything new will be posted over there. I just added a Halloween Dollar Store Crafts Round-Up, and that includes this new idea for a quick de-constructing Bat Person Costume for the dolls:@)

My Walmart put out their Christmas decorations and the first thing that caught my eye were these little Mr. Christmas light and sound retro TV ornaments. They are written up as 3.75" but I felt from the bottom of the legs to top it was more like 5"... But please don't hold me to that:@) The scene is not animated, but when you turn the knob to on it lights up and repeatedly plays a song. I think these are a good size for Barbie holiday dioramas, and love the old time colors. Remember folks, back in the day, televisions did not take up the whole wall. They were small/smaller...

Years ago, I found a knit Eagles bottle koozie marked down at Walmart. Immediately saw an easy dress for Barbie and tossed it into the cart:@) You can still find similar items today in all different styles. I simply slipped it up over the doll's hips, and wa-la, Barbie is sporting her team colors for the game! The koozie is stretchy enough to fit all doll body types. I love these ideas that look at an item in a different way, maybe you already have an old koozie in the house you could recycle into a fun dress for Barbie:@)

Ok, Barbie mania has truly taken over the world of retail... Pink not only ~seems~ to be the color of the year, the color for 2023 is actually magenta:@) I saw so many cute outfits for girls at Walmart, thought I'd take a few pics... If there's one thing we could all learn from the movie... It's yes, we are ~all~ a limited edition. You go girl, you be you!
Cute little sporty top...
Would work with the pants below too.

Things slow down at Peace and Pancakes Farm towards the middle to end of August. Customers are scarce as everyone uses up some vacation time, and it's still too hot for mums... So Rube and Reenee decided to close the store for a long weekend before fall, and just relax at the farm house. A Staycation of sorts:@) It felt good to just sit with their toes in some cool water, catching a breeze for a while...
And Reenee was thrilled to spend a little quiet time with Rube. They've been so busy with the farm, and harvest season will bring in a ton of people for pumpkins and Halloween.

I saw a newly opened display box of Foodie Mini Brands Series 2 at Walmart, and the frozen moments slice of pizza being pulled from the pie hooked me-I just had to see if I'd get lucky. How fun would that be for a football party picture!!! Now, I've mentioned before I'm a little leery about buying these balls... But, yep, I picked one up. Barbie says, hey, even dolls have to eat:@)
The front of the ball:
While I didn't get the frozen moments pizza... I will say, I feel this ball was worth the money? No little cardboard boxes filled with nothing but air-yay! Everything is a substantial plas ..read more

I saw a Blinger kit on QVC for adding rhinestones to hair and clothes. It was a small stamper that held a circle of gems, each one had an adhesive backing, as you pressed the unit closed it added a little bling to hair. They also suggested it could be used on dolls. So that got me thinking... The idea sounds truly amazing for a kid, she could get fancy, and her doll could match. We're all about that here at DIY Barbie Blog:@) ~But~ as someone that uses glue dots a lot for pictures, I'm not a big fan of glue around doll hair. So we needed a shiny alternative.
And we needed it quickly, B ..read more

Popping in with a quick post to share that Walmart had an end display of Uno cards, and one variety is from Barbie The Movie. They are really cute and would make a great stocking stuffer for little Barbie enthusiasts. And of course everywhere you go something else pops up... I hear Suave even made Barbie shampoo this year. It should be a fun (and pink) holiday season:@)
Grab it when you see it, and

If there's one thing gardeners know, it's that Mother Nature has her own schedule and when vegetables and fruit are ripe, you need to pick them! 2023 has been an odd year in the Philadelphia area, I've seen huge sunflowers blooming in June, and a red tomato before July 1st. Cousin Rube says, we can now add to that, the first pumpkin in early August:@) Very exciting indeed!
Pumpkins have always been a big seller at our little Barbie homestead, Peace and Pancakes Farm. Rube says it looks like a bumper crop year. Should be a fun autumn?

I was recently asked if I could make more easy clothes that are no-sew. For folks that are new to DIY Barbie Blog, I do have a no-sew label, you can scroll back through past projects by clicking here. And my Barbie Pinterest Board here. This Swing Top with Ribbon Tie is a cute little project that comes together quickly, I creased the folds with my finger nail, then simply glued them down. This can be made in any color or design, and is perfect for the summer months.
