Fraley Construction Marketing has been managing social media and email marketing for Junttan USA since January 2022, but we hadn’t done a job story. It was discussed early on, but we needed the right project. That changed in June 2023. Junttan USA was renting a PMx28 Pile Driving Rig to James J. Anderson Construction Company for a pile driving job at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. There were too many interesting aspects to mention here, but the most important is the work accomplished, which is the core of our “how stuff works” approach to marketing. Needless to say, the story was a hit in the tra ..read more

Agate Construction reached out in March and was looking for a new website. As a heavy civil and marine contractor, the company was right in the Fraley Construction Marketing wheelhouse as a customer. In fact, Agate Construction came to us because they appreciated the site we built for a friendly competitor, Commerce Construction. After some positive testimonials from several customers and a phone call with Brian, they were convinced that we combined the right mix of heavy construction and website design knowledge. The site was dated and needed to be modernized and rebuilt, but one of Agate’s ..read more

Changing a logo is a tough decision for a company, especially when family history is involved. McCann Concrete Products was using its original logo from 1975 when the current generation’s grandfather launched this Illinois-based precast operation. Reluctant to deal with marketing agencies that didn’t understand the precast industry, McCann contacted Fraley Construction Marketing because of our knowledge of the heavy construction industry. Logo design is among the services we provide so the fit was perfect. McCann told us up front, “We often use a Tongue-and-Groove joint between our p ..read more

Fraley Construction Marketing Blog
by Brian Fraley

Fraley Construction Marketing has welcomed Illinois-based McCann Concrete Products as a new customer. This multi-generational, family-owned precast supplier neglected its marketing because it dreaded the idea of having to explain the precast industry to a generalist marketing company. They discovered Fraley Construction Marketing through the first website we ever did (Faddis Concrete Products) and were impressed by Brian’s experience in the heavy construction market. Our first two assignments are to upgrade its logo and website. In fact, McCann Concrete has narrowed down the first round of log ..read more

Safety, Functionality Issues Drive UMA Geotechnical Website Redesign
Fraley Construction Marketing Blog
by Brian Fraley

Appearance isn’t the only reason a website should be addressed. There are times when it looks presentable, but other issues drive the need for a website redesign. That was the case for our partners at North Carolina-based UMA Geotechnical Construction. Fraley Construction Marketing was already providing ongoing marketing services to UMA in the summer of 2020, including public relations, email marketing, social media management, and more. The existing website didn’t look bad enough to push for a redesign (even though it didn’t reflect the stature of the company), but a look under the hood revea ..read more

Where do you turn as a specialty subcontractor looking for a new construction website? If you’re like many companies, your options might include an individual that does websites as a side gig, a spam email promising a low-cost website, or a local generalist website designer. But what if you want a professional website built by a company that truly understands your work, i.e. micropiles, shotcrete, deep foundations, etc.? That’s a hard thing to find. South Carolina-based Palmetto Gunite Construction Company reached out to UMA Geotechnical Construction Company after admiring its website. Fraley ..read more

Inside Look at How Our Construction Marketing Services are Packaged and Priced

“What kind of construction marketing services do you offer and how do you bill the work?” It’s a common question when we start talks with a new company. Monthly Retainers: Most customers go with a customized monthly retainer, which is a fixed fee based on the service rendered. This works best with offerings like social media management or ongoing publicity where repetition is required. Project Basis: Pricing the job per project works best when you have a single need that requires a lot of effort. Websites, job story campaigns, and jobsite photography fall into this category. Our first project with Junttan Oy wasn’t the largest project as a single news release, but the magnitude of the announcement was huge. We worked directly with the marketing team in Finland to break the news of the “world’s first electric pile driving rig.” Fraley Construction Marketing was selected for this groundbreaking news release because of our success working with the manufacturer’s U.S. operation earlier this year on a successful release about its new line of drilling rigs. Junttan Oy needed a firm that was not only dialed in with the global heavy construction trade media, but also able ..read more

Precasteel Job Story Explains Role on Airport Project
Fraley Construction Marketing Blog
by Brian Fraley

One of the best ways to promote a new product in the heavy construction market is with a job story. This is especially true when its being used by a well-known contractor on a high-profile project. Precasteel’s Stay-In-Place-Fascia-Forms (SIPFF) met these conditions and more on two bridges at a LaGuardia Airport terminal replacement project. Walsh Construction and Skanska USA were operating as the Design-Build Joint Venture of Skanska-Walsh so the stage was set for an interesting story. These forms are the invention of Gary Dinmore, P.E. This is a highly technical job story based on how these ..read more
