An important point for the readers of InDepth to understand is that the Thalmann Algorithm implementation, is more of a framework/software for decompression researchers to create alternative decompression models, than it is a specific decompression model per say.
By having a configuration file, the Thalmann Algorithm allows researchers to specify a series of parameters to create custom decompression models. For example, a researcher can specify first how many tissues a model will have, next what is the half-time for those tissues, and finally, their M-values. Different values f ..read more

The Human Diver has always been at the forefront of delivering practical and theoretical education in the diving domain. In January 2016, highly-experiential computer-based simulators (GemaSim) were used to bring the intangible concepts of human factors, non-technical skills, and psychological safety to life for divers in the classroom. In June 2016, a flipped-learning approach was taken where a chunk of theory was delivered via the Kajabi learning management system in face-to-camera delivered modules in the Micro-class before GemaSim classroom sessions.

All caves that were visited require permission from the National Park Service or the Monks if a shrine cave. Cave locations have not been published to deter non-exploration visits. It’s not impossible to obtain permission but it takes time. If interested in cave exploration, research on local access is critical.—Michael Thomas
