The Missing released its first episode in December 2020. In the four years since, we’ve covered more than seventy missing person cases, across the UK and Ireland. In the course of our work, we’ve spoken to hundreds of people, whose brave and unvarnished testimonies have shone a light on a grim phenomenon that is underreported in our communities.  Some people are overwhelmed following lengthy battles with severe mental health issues, whilst others have found themselves under too much pressure, whether familial or financial. In this episode, we cover the unusual case of Mark Palmer, a construction worker from Bedfordshire, who vanished in 2019 whilst working overseas in the town of Ontinyent, Spain.  Mark was last seen by his colleagues at 10:30am on the morning of April 27th, a Saturday. Mark had a history of going AWOL for up to 24 hours at a time, so when he failed to return on Sunday, they weren’t immediately concerned.
