Saturday was the first Hydropower Day in Juneau and this week our community is hosting the National Hydropower Association Alaska regional meeting on the 28th and 29th with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman coming to Juneau to keynote! Duff Mitchell is here to chat about all things Hydropower since Juneau is mostly on hydropower and more is on the way with Sweetheart Lake Hydroelectric Project to fulfill Juneau's growing demand for heat pumps, electric vehicles/buses and dock electrification

5K run and 2-mile walk at Kax̱dig̱oowu Héen School (Riverbend Elementary) to support Southeast Alaskans who are battling cancer. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year and includes commemorative t-shirts, a grand prize drawing, refreshments, door prizes, and an auction. Saturday, August 17, 2024.

1. Registration is still open.
2. Relays are an option for all distances.
3. Beer Garden and Forno Rosso pizza truck will be at the UAS finish line.
4. Slight delays in traffic on Back Loop road could happen before 10am at Glacier Spur Road and the UAS entrance. Flaggers will be in place.
5. We are still looking for some volunteers, and that comes with shirts, snacks, and a $10 discount on Forno Rosso.
