America’s Public Schools Are Terrible
Roce Today

America’s public schools are almost unbelievably bad, to a degree that poses an existential threat to the republic. That’s the bad news. The good news is that most Americans are figuring it out. Rasmussen finds that a 36% plurality say that our public schools are poor. That is a remarkable finding. A sadly misinformed 9% think our schools are excellent. But that disproportion is revealing. The teachers’ unions aren’t fooling many people anymore. Minnesota exemplifies the awful performance of our schools as well as any state; perhaps better than most, since at one time Minnesota’s schools had ..read more

Mexico’s deployment of National Guardsmen and other ground troops on the U.S.-Mexico border has already begun to disrupt the movement of migrants. The inflow of Central American migrants into the U.S. has been stunted following the deployment of several thousand ground troops on Mexico’s northern and southern borders, The New York Times reported Monday. The troop deployment was brought on by a deal struck between the Trump administration and the administration of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in response to President Donald Trump’s trade ultimatum hinged on the Mexican governm ..read more

Ramaswamy’s income tax plan should be tweaked to this
Roce Today
by Paul Smith

Vivek Ramaswamy, the candidate running for the Presidential nomination from the Republican Party, has suggested switching the current progressive federal income tax system, to a flat tax or single rate system. He says that he would tax all income at a single rate of 12%. His idea is great, but it needs to be tweaked. There is little information available about Vivek’s plan. In order for a 12% tax rate to be even close to revenue neutral, he would have to tax all income starting with the first dollar earned, with very few, if any, deductions. While that may be a great plan to stimulate GDP gro ..read more

No Joe, Bidenomics Is Not Working
Roce Today

This past week as he marked the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, President Biden said that his economic policies known as “Bidenomics” are working. Assuming the goals of economic policy are price stability, full employment and economic growth, his policies fail. In other words, Bidenomics is not working. The White House says the policies are “rooted in the recognition that the best way to grow the economy is from the middle out and the bottom up.” This seems to be geared to refute Reaganomics, which was mostly based on creating new capital for expansion to grow the economy ..read more

A new focus group of minority male voters provided pessimistic reviews of President Joe Biden’s leadership of the country, according to Politico. After two-and-a-half years of his administration, minority men reported negative views about Biden’s handling of key issues such as the economy, according to a focus group conducted of Biden voters by HIT Strategies, and first reported by Politico. “People had [such] high hopes for him because he sai ..read more

The Biden crime family’s multimillion-dollar bribery and money-laundering operation has more moving parts than an 80-year-old grandfather clock. Even news-aholics find it tough to follow this scandal’s interlocking meetings, phone calls, trade junkets, wire transfers, and shady characters with unpronounceable names. As just-appointed special counsel David Weiss soon will learn that, unlike “White House Aides Break Into Democratic Headquarters,” capturing the Bidens’ shakedowns requires more than one bumper sticker. Thankfully, the House Government Oversight and Accountability Committee has ri ..read more

In the weeks following George Floyd’s death in 2020, a U.S. Air Force officer—currently awaiting promotion to brigadier general—accused his fellow “white colonels” of being the “biggest barriers” to addressing “racial injustice” in the military and being “blind to institutional racism.” Col. Ben Jonsson’s 825-word commentary in the Air Force Times on July 1, 2020, recounts several examples of what he describes as “white defensiveness” in the aftermath of Floyd’s death. Jonsson concludes with an endorsement of critical race theory promoter Robin DiAngelo’s controversial book, “White Fragility ..read more

California is considering approving a proposal for a massive offshore wind project off of its northern coast, news which follows reported problems with East Coast offshore wind projects, according to Politico. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and his administration are weighing the project proposal as costs rise for East Coast developers and an unusual and substantial uptick in whale mortalities has occurred over the approximate period of time that offshore wind projects have started in waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
