A dear old friend of mine, Stanley Howard, recently passed away. Stanley and I go a long way back and although in our latter years we didn’t visit a lot, I will miss him. In 1972 we worked at John C Flagler’s grocery store and after butting heads we became good friends. For the next 10 years or so we were together many days, especially during his time off from Georgetown Steel, but while he was there he worked hard. For hours we would cruise town in one of his new vehicles that he kept clean and shiny, sipping brews and smoking cigarettes with the 8 track player blaring. Later on after marriag ..read more

A Hero from Wade’s Story Shares Her Review The above art is by my Brother In Law Buddy Campbell April 9, 2021 : Twenty years ago today my brother Wade left this earth to be with our LORD and SAVIOR in Heaven. It is hard to believe that twenty years have already passed. I still remember the events of that day very vividly. I never thought he would leave us. I wanted him here and I still wish he were here, but GOD has a plan for everything and I trust HIM. I’ll always cherish the years spent with Wade and the many great memories. The fourteen years of having him with us were a blessing! Recent ..read more

You will remember from South Carolina History : Wade Hampton I and II and III, all heroes of the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War in that order. Wade H Altman is born 9-18-1986. We named him after his Great Uncle ,Wade Hampton Barrineau Jr, and his Great Grandfather, Wade Hampton Barrineau Sr.My mother , Pearl Barrineau Altman , was of course thrilled with our choice of name for her youngest grandson. A green eyed, blonde haired, handsome boy, full of life and mischief, Wade was never sick, he had never even thrown up.In May of 1996, we went out on a family night to do ..read more

I just finished reading your book from cover to cover through my tears. I was especially touched by Blakely’s scrapbook, I guess because I too have been the big sister who lost her brother. I want to thank you for sharing your story and for autographing my copy. You will never know how much of an inspiration you and your family have been to me. After I lost my brother Romans 8:28 became my lifeline and your story just confirms this scripture to me. There really is no pain without purpose and I’m thankful for people like you and Lisa who refused to bear the pain without finding the purpose and ..read more

This blog may not be for you if phrases like “Hallelujah,” “Thank the Lord,” “To God Be Glory” drive you bananas. Hopefully, these words will be a large part of these writings because this is my heart’s cry. All glory, honor and praise go to Him – the Lord Jesus Christ. Truth is I can do nothing without the Lord. But God/Only God(this phrase borrowed from a friend)… I can do all things through Christ Jesus and so can you. Let the fun begin! This week as I was texting with one of my running buddies, the phrase, “Cloud of witnesses,” kept running over and over in my spirit. Of course, I knew ..read more
