The Best Swimsuits for Moms
A Foodie Stays Fit

These swimsuits are flattering, not too skimpy and timeless to last you for years! I am SO excited about the summer with Thomas and Charles! Thomas loves the water, and we have a swim lesson intensive starting next week, so hopefully he’ll feel more confident in the pool this summer. I’m personally not a big pool fan (I’m not a super strong swimmer), but since Thomas loves it, we’ll spend lots of time at our neighborhood pool this summer. That being said, I needed to do some swimsuit shopping. If you’re like me (and you probably are if you’re reading this post!), you’re looking for cute, flatt ..read more

20 Best Non-Toxic Sunscreens for your face, body & family

Growing up, I slathered on body oil and tanning oil and would lay in the sun, trying to get a deep tan. Then, in high school I started working at a tanning salon, mostly because it was a job that allowed for lots of time to do my homework. I was eventually required to go to a safety course of some sort about tanning salons, and what I learned there horrified me so much that I stopped tanning as often. (But, you know, of course I still did some because it was free and TAN WAS IN.) My manager told me I needed to tan more often to represent the salon well, and when I said I didn’t want to – becau ..read more

My Beautycounter Perfume Review – as someone who’s sensitive to fragrance
A Foodie Stays Fit

As someone who’s pretty conscious about the ingredients I use on my skin and body, I typically stray away from anything that’s scented. Not only does the beauty industry use the term “fragrance” as a cover for any ingredients/chemicals they want to include, but strong scents make my throat close and make me congested. I can only use certain laundry detergents, cleaning supplies, and personal care products — and perfume was definitely off the table. Until I found Dime perfume. I really liked it and used it for years. Then, Beautycounter launched a couple of perfumes last fall, bu ..read more

What to Pack for a C-section
A Foodie Stays Fit

I had two pretty different experiences delivering my sons. I had a vaginal delivery with my first, and then a planned C-section with my second. Well, somewhat planned. Charles was breech for almost my entire pregnancy, so we did everything in our power to get him to flip (he was not interested), and then by the lasts few weeks of my pregnancy, our doctor advised us that a C-section was our safest route, so that became our plan. Originally I was not hoping for a C-section at all, but it ended up being a much more beautiful and joyful experience than I expected. So if you’re in the same boat, kn ..read more

ILIA Makeup Review – what I like and what I don’t

I first started using ILIA Beauty a few years ago when Beautycounter discontinued their concealer for a bit and I wanted a clean alternative. Then, in the fall of 2022 I picked up the ILIA True Skin Serum Foundation when I was at the LTK Conference in Dallas. Next, I tried the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint and fell in love. I’m VERY picky about what I choose to put on my face and clean beauty is something that I’m passionate about. I’m always on the lookout for my new favorite product (I consider myself a pretty big skincare and makeup junkie), and ILIA has so many options to choose from. Today I ..read more

Seed Probiotic Review: What I noticed when I started using it AND stopped using it
A Foodie Stays Fit

Looking for a probiotic you can trust and that actually helps improve your gut? Seed is by far the best I’ve found and the only one I plan to purchase from now on. Here’s why. In addition to the science behind Seed Probiotics and how it’s improved my gut, I also really love the convenience.  When you buy Seed, use this link with promo code TERI to get 15% off your first month of a subscription! A handful of years ago, I was listening to a Rich Roll podcast about a probiotics company named Seed. I’ve been taking probiotics for years, but have always blindly shopped and brand ..read more

How I curl my hair! (with a video tutorial!)
A Foodie Stays Fit

The vast majority of days I curl my hair, rather than leaving it straight or smoothing it out with a straightener. I feel more polished and my hair is more comfortable during the day with some curl to it since it stays out my face more easily! Another benefit of taking a few minutes to curl it is that it looks cuter if I pull it back in a pony tail during the day, and if I lift weights, I can just do a low bun and it still looks fine post-workout or even on day two. (But if I do cardio, I have to wash my hair – I get too sweaty!) I’ve attempted to curl my hair with a flat iron and it’s just a ..read more

My Early Postpartum Must Haves – as a second time mom

What you’ll need, after the baby arrives, to care for yourself. It’s so hard to believe that we brought our second baby home almost a month ago! Time has absolutely flown. We are SO in love with our two boys, and I’m soaking in lots of newborn snuggles between triple feeding, lots of doctors appointments (for Charles and myself), and trying to sleep when I can. My recovery from this delivery has differed a good bit from my first because I had Charles via C-section, and while it’s been difficult in some ways (especially not being able to hold Thomas), all things considered, we’re all doing well ..read more

10 Distance Running Tips For Beginners
A Foodie Stays Fit

It’s around this time of year (late winter with spring on the brain), that I notice more runners in our neighborhood. The sun is staying out a little longer, the weather is getting just a tiny bit warmer, and being outside just feels so GOOD. While I haven’t been running much myself over the last year (I was pregnant and just had my baby), I still get asked about running all the time since I used to share so much running content here on my blog (and on Instagram). One of the common questions I hear is from new runners about how to get into distance running. So today, I thought it would be fun ..read more

The Best Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste

Would you have guessed that I’m picky about my toothpaste? Did you know that there’s even something to be picky about when it comes to toothpaste (other than flavor, of course)? A few years ago, I switched from my regular fluoride toothpaste to a hydroxyapatite toothpaste, and since then, I’ve had less cavities, my teeth feel cleaner in general, and my dentist says it’s just as effective. So today I wanted to share some details including a break down of what hydroxyapatite is, why it’s beneficial, and which brands of hydroxyapatite are my favorites in case you like to try them yourself. The Be ..read more
