In Nostalgia Town, we meet one this country’s finest painters, Salvatore Zofrea. Salvatore arrived in Australia from Italy in 1956. One of ten children, he left school at 15 to work 11 hour days at the Flemington markets. Salvatore studied art at Sydney’s Julian Ashton School and, informed by da Vinci and other masters such as Titian, Turner and Rembrandt, embarked on a distinguished career.
