Whether it was the somewhat surprising selection of Paolo Banchero at No. 1 or one of the many trades that were made, this year’s NBA draft kept fans on their toes. As with every draft, some teams improved themselves while others may not have found the missing piece they were seeking. The Orlando Magic selected Duke forward Paolo Banchero with the first overall pick of the NBA Draft on Thursday night in New York. The 6-foot-10 Banchero averaged 17.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game as a freshman last season for Duke. He also contributed defensively with 41 steals and 36 blocked shots. Banchero is the fourth Duke player to be the No. 1 overall pick.
