According to Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, the Boston Celtics are one of multiple teams showing interest in the 28th pick in Thursday’s 2022 NBA Draft. The Golden State Warriors currently hold that draft pick, but the 2022 NBA champions may consider moving the pick because of the young depth and luxury tax burden they already have, per Deveney. The Celtics are without a first round pick, after trading their own pick at the deadline to the San Antonio Spurs to acquire Derrick White. As of Wednesday, the only selection Boston has in this year’s draft is the 53rd pick. “If you ask me right now what ..read more

NBA recognizes Massachusetts native Terrence Clarke at 2021 draft

Draft day is a special moment for so many people – for the players, their families, their coaches and mentors, and everyone who has helped them get to the pros. Terrence Clarke, who was born and raised in Dorchester, MA, was supposed to have that moment on Thursday. Heartbreakingly, he didn’t make it to his draft day. The 19-year-old died in a car accident earlier this year. Although Clarke couldn’t walk across the stage and shake Commissioner Adam Silver’s hand himself, the NBA did not let the night pass without recognizing the Massachusetts native. Silver paused the draft mid-way through the ..read more

After trading their first round pick to Oklahoma City earlier this offseason, the Celtics have just one selection to make in the 2021 NBA Draft. That will come in the second round, 45th overall. While that may seem late, there is plenty of depth in this year’s draft class. What will the Celtics do with that pick? Here are some options… Follow the Boston Celtics and the NBA at 985TheSportsHub.com ..read more

Celtics Notebook: Three possible free-agent targets at point guard
98.5 The Sports Hub » NBA Draft
by Jaron May

The Celtics need a point guard, badly. Right now, they have Marcus Smart, Payton Pritchard, Tremont Waters, and Carsen Edwards in the backcourt. That is a lot of youth, and not a lot of talent. Boston doesn’t have enough cap space to sign some of the biggest names this offseason, but they will have plenty of space next year. So, the C’s don’t want to spend too much now and ruin their opportunity to hit on a big fish in the future. With all of that said, the Celtics most likely won’t be in the Kyle Lowry/Mike Conley/Goran Dragic sweepstakes, but there are some enticing free-agent depth guards ..read more

After Kemba Walker trade, Celtics have gone from hoarding draft picks to an empty cupboard

Since Danny Ainge’s famous blockbuster trade with the Nets in 2013, the Celtics have made 27 draft picks over seven years. That equates to about four picks per draft. Under Ainge, the Celtics made countless roster moves in order to gain more draft capital. In recent years, rarely have they traded picks away, because they like finding young talent and growing through the draft. However, that cushion of picks they had is now gone, and the C’s sent even more away in Friday’s Kemba Walker trade. Along with Walker, Boston sent the 16th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and a second-round pick in 2 ..read more

Who And What Would You Trade To Move Up In 2018 NBA Draft?

By Ty Anderson, 985TheSportsHub.com Listen, the Celtics need Mo Bamba. I didn’t know that they needed Mo Bamba before yesterday (I hardly knew about his absurd wingspan before yesterday), but they need Mo Bamba. And I’m saying this for purely selfish reasons. Why wouldn’t I want the ability to tweet #ThanksALotMoBamba or say, “Ladies and gentleman, this is Mo Bamba No. 5” like Lou Bega? But to get Bamba, or any player considered to be the cream of the crop of this year’s draft class, the Celtics are going to need to pull off something big. I think we’re all at the point where you almost e ..read more
