Practically anyone must be wondering, do all donations given to the known charitable institutions in their region actually reach their intended purpose of helping the actual people in need? Technically, the common man would care less but each penny or in kind donations are totally for the account of the people housed and targeted for such aids and donations. These charity organizations are non-profit organizations. They are purely for voluntary aid and work to serve people and endeavors in need. While the immediate understanding that people in need would be the main beneficiaries, there are o ..read more

Birds are one of the complementary creatures of nature and good indicators of the environmental situation of any country such as Europe. But because of some issues such as natural and man-made calamities, bird species such as the lapwing and the waders have slowly been disappearing. Some are hunted and shot down by hunters for their prize while other have simply died naturally due to no shelter and feeding grounds. A lot of this can be attributed to the fact that birds are just seen as winged creatures that fly into the sky as if they own the aerial beauty of the world. But these animals also ..read more

In the UK, animal rights charities such as the RSPCA and the Pet Care Trust have long been fighting the legality of animals sold during Commercial Pet Fairs. There was great concern that the welfare of animals bought and sold at such temporary events were compromised. However, a new bill that has just been passed not only bans the sale of animals, but also allows animal lovers to run and participate in these pet fairs without the need for a license. David Bowles, Head of External Affairs at the RSPCA commented: “We are delighted that the Government is going to follow the judicial review on pe ..read more

During the Second World War, tens or even hundreds of thousands of women in Asia were made as sex slaves by the Japanese soldiers. Not many people knew about this until in the early 1990s when, one by one, these so-called comfort women gradually came out in the open to reveal their tragic stories. Specifically, it was the women’s movement in South Korean that first raised the issue of forced recruitment of Korean women back in 1990. The movement’s sole purpose is to obtain recognition and compensation for surviving comfort women. A year after in 1991, a former Korean comfort woman testified in ..read more
