I’m excited to have author Roslyn Cohn on my blog today! She’s doing a blog tour with WOW! Women on Writing and I’m glad to be part of it. She’s touring her pup memoir Who Saved Who. Before we get to my review, here’s more about the book: About Who Saved Who Growing up in beautiful Bohemian 1970s Marin County, the daughter of a funny pawnbroker-jeweler with vision who knew the streets and a warm, independent Mom turned Naturalist-Animal Rights Activist, Roz is an award-winning actress who spent 20 years in NYC, where she worked on stages from the size of a postage stamp to Broadway.  Roz ..read more

World of My Imagination

I’m really enjoying the memoirs I have the opportunity to read through WOW! Women on Writing and that come to my blog for consideration. I love reading about someone’s unique journey through life. Today, I’m reviewing Tales From a Rogue Ranger by Rosanne McHenry. Before we get to my review, here is more about the book: Tales From a Rogue Ranger is full of stories that speak to the comedy and tragedy of being a park ranger: a job that is nothing like you might imagine. Set against the stunning backdrop of California’s American River Canyon, this is an engaging and wildly unusual read about the ..read more

World of My Imagination

This post contains affiliate links which gives me a small commission if you purchase through my link. I’ve been reading through a lengthy backlog of books. I received Dead Code by Glenda Carroll. If you can believe it, I received her book to review in 2021 (!), and I only just now finished it. This book made me so glad I took the time to start through this list of books. Dead Code focuses on a mystery that the main character, Trisha Carson, accidentally stumbles into when she learns her landlord’s grandson is missing. Of course, she is never one to stay away from a problem but run towards it ..read more

Reflecting on My Years of Blogging #IWSG
World of My Imagination
by Nicole Pyles

Well, I just had to reply to this question by the Insecure Writer’s Support Group. They asked:  How long have you been blogging (or on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram)? What do you like about it and how has it changed? Can you believe I started blogging in June 2011? I was inspired after spending time on Twitter back in 2010. That social media network was THE place to promote your blog and I saw countless posts on there sharing their own blogs. I wanted to have my own! So, upon graduating from college, I started World of My Imagination. This was one of my first posts. I think I had more befo ..read more

Serendipity A Guest Post by Julie Anderson

Serendipity (noun) the fact of finding valuable, interesting or pleasing things by chance. My new book, The Midnight Man, is being published by Hobeck Books on 30 April, but its genesis was in 2022, and thereby hangs a serendipitous tale. I was in southern Spain, where I go sometimes to write, when an invitation to a surprise birthday celebration landed in my inbox. It was a friend’s seventieth birthday and her partner’s sister had decided to host an impromptu gathering, with an enormous cake, one day hence. I was invited.  I responded to say that I was happy to attend, but then promptly ..read more

I’m so honored to be part of this blog tour with WOW! Women on Writing. This is for an author I’ve stayed in touch with over the years, who wrote a book I’ve reviewed before called Never Too Late. That is a book you’ll want to check out as well as the one I’m reviewing today. This one on today’s post is called Disrupted. It’s a young adult fiction novel (one of my favorite genres!) and one you don’t want to miss. Before we get to my review, here’s more about the book: The San Ramos High students are busy rehearsing their performance of Our Town when the school and the surrounding towns are roc ..read more

My Review of What Happens in Montana
World of My Imagination

I’m excited to be part of the blog tour for What Happens in Montana. Before we get to my review, here’s more about the book: A ghost’s antics, a harrowing moose chase, a hypnosis session, and smuggled booze lead to spilled secrets and betrayal, but do they also lead to murder? At a hot springs retreat in Montana, whiskey-swigging Maude, the nearly eighty-year-old chef, longs for the glory days when the retreat hosted martini-sipping celebrities instead of long-haired hippies who refuse to wear deodorant. Brooke, feisty, adventurous, and a bit reckless, proposes a reunion at the retreat with he ..read more

Today I’m excited to have Leslie Cox on my blog, sharing her thoughts about Neill McKee’s memoir MY UNIVERSITY OF THE WORLD. Take it away Leslie! Neill McKee has taken me along on his journey in, My University of the World. His travels extend beyond those of many readers—North America, South America, Asia, Africa, and the list goes on. But this is more than a travel guide. It is a story about humanitarian efforts extended to the people of developing countries by an army of volunteers, and what can be learned from various cultures. Those volunteers provide resources and training to aid in the d ..read more

January Reflections and Authors’ Websites
World of My Imagination
by Nicole Pyles

I thought I’d take some time to reflect on the post for IWSG and what has been happening with January. I’ve been making some slow progress with my writing; getting back into the habit has been the most important part for me. I’m beginning to embrace planning more. I think that’s the missing piece in my writing journey, and I’m eager to see how things play out for me. IWSG asked: What turns you off when visiting an author’s website/blog? Lack of information? A drone of negativity? Little mention of author’s books? Constant mention of books? Strangely, I don’t seek out author’s websites often ..read more
