April 15th holds some pretty monumental moments in the history of the United States, maybe even the world. It is the date in history that: French King Louis XIV declared war on Spain, the Titanic sunk, the first mobilization of federal troops to suppress the Southern uprising (beginning the Civil war), the day President Abraham Lincoln is assassinated, and the release of a song by Jackie DeShannon titled “What the world needs now is Love”. In 1965 the world was really in rough shape with the Vietnam war entering it’s tenth year, billions spent and protests all over. The Cold war, wa ..read more

Saint Rita is a perfect example of humility and love. Why do we not hear more about this amazing Saint? I have been around the Church for years and never remember hearing about this awesome and inspiring Saint! St. Rita’s Story She desired to be only God’s and to give herself totally to Him from a young age, but her parents had other plans and promised her in marriage. Obeying them, she found herself in a marriage less than desirable. St. Rita married a faithless and verbally abusive man, who wielded amazing power. However, she made the best of it, praying for her husband to return to his fai ..read more

The Feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist is on June 24th each year. I guess I never really sat down and considered this feast. It is the Birthday of John the Baptist! Did you know the church only celebrates three birthdays in the life of Salvation History? Jesus, Mary, and John the Baptist are those three. The church, as a rule, does not celebrate birthdays, but the date of their death, their birth to the new life in eternal happiness. By the Power of the Holy Spirit The three birthday’s we do celebrate are because of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is pretty much a given for celebrating and his ..read more

I can remember from early in my life going to our parish church and noticing this little statue, located in the sanctuary of the church, and it was “dressed” in vestments. Even for a small child it was easy to recognize the difference and so spurn the question “Who is that?”. The Infant Jesus of Prague was the answer. Ok, perfect, why does that statue have clothes on, like real clothing, no other statues have fabric clothing? AND as I began to pay more attention, they changed his clothes! Different colors for different times in the Church. This was something that grabbed my attention! Devotio ..read more

One thing you can do, guaranteed to improve your spiritual life. Accept what it is. When we address the elephant in the room regarding our spiritual life we can work with it in a whole new way. It is called a Relationship. Yeah, personally I think this is why most men have an issue with things like Church and faith. A lot of us are selfish and don’t do relationships real well. Women on the other hand are more in touch with that side of their feelings. It is not a tried and true rule, call it more of an observation. Accept it, your in a relationship! What we need to accept is this is a relatio ..read more

Betrayed by a Kiss, Judas wanted to shed light on a few things too!

I had a pastor once that we were having a meeting about the parish. I must have said something that was focused more on myself than on the parish. My pastor asked me to take a walk and we walked the grounds talking about different topics with the faith, and before I knew it we were standing in the parish cemetery. He said, “ya know, all these people have died, and the Church continues on. One day you and I will die and guess what, the Church will continue on without us.” We have a hard time understanding we are not the lynch pin in the entire operation. Betrayed as by a Kiss, Judas wanted to ..read more

I have been praying on this for quite some time and finally felt it was time to voice my opinions on the website, I feel is doing tremendous damage to the Church in America, and I am sure a few other places through the world as well. Church Militant, is a website dedicated to destroying the bride of Christ. Contrary to the Mandate of Jesus We don’t have the resources or even the degrees that the owner of the broadcasting agency that runs their site. But what we do have is religious conviction.
