Hello hello! I was checking through my unpublished drafts and found this progress post buried between the rest of the lot of forget-me-nots and well, last time I touched this draft was in... wait for it... January 2017. Jesus Christ, who ate up all that time? It feels like it wasn't that long ago I swear. ;_; Nobody probably remembers but in the first part I said I had no deadline for this cosplay but was aiming for a summer 2017 debut? Well, as everyone now can see that totally happened. /sarcasm Well, I still intend to finish this costume at some point although I have no idea if that group ..read more

Hello everyone! It's a new year and that means new plans are being forged about what anime cons I plan to attend. I haven't done this kind of list in ages this is totally not a filler episode but as I've regained interest in going to cons and cosplaying I thought it would be fun and motivating to do this kind of post again. :)   I plan to attend the following: FIN • Kummacon  FIN • Matsucon SWE • Nordsken FIN • Mericon FIN • Nekocon The list above isn't in any particular order, I don't even think all cons have officially revealed their dates yet.  Hello everyone! This year has gone by really fast I swear they go faster and faster every year help but unlike the last few years there's been a marked improvement in my con attendance. Yes, I'm slowly rising back from the dead and even got some kind of inspiration back! It feels so good to return to this hobby and get some enjoyment from it that isn't too tarnished by anxiety and other issues. I'm very thankful to all my friends who made this year so wonderful and I'm actually feeling motivated to make new costumes again and get my shit together. I've been to a record amount of convent ..read more

Nordsken 2023 – This is not the way

Hello nerds! This year is almost over but I still managed to cram in one more event into my list. I just got back home from my first Nordsken which was held on 28-29th December in Skellefteå, Sweden. Nordsken started its life as a LAN event and then it slowly incorporated other aspects of nerd culture into its existence as it grew over the years. This year, as far as I know, was the first time Nordsken was a free entrance event and that's partly the reason why I was lulled over to take a look. Let's move on to the summary! Nordsken 2023 official poster. I wouldn't have been ..read more

Happy Sunday folks! I'm here to, once again, share a lens review. This time it's the ColourVue Crazy Lens Blue Flower on the plate and without further ramblings, let's dig into it! Ya hi hoo~ Base curve: 8.6 mm Diameter: 14.0 mm Water content: 45% Life span: 1 year (I recommend 6 months) Okay so, I remember I had no plan when I originally bought these – just a spur of the moment thing because they were on sale and I saw Swedish Pagans colors or something lol. Then again, the design with the pointy flower pattern is quite spicy and I think that might have roped me in to try ..read more

Hello geeks, spooks and cheeky pumpkins!   I was at Matsucon this past weekend and I'm here to tell you all about my latest con trip, woo! For those not in the know Matsucon is an annual anime convention in Oulu, northern Finland, and this year's edition was held on 28-29th October – which makes it coincide with Halloween. This mashup was visible in the decorations like a Gengar plush at the info desk, pumpkins on promotional material etc and added an extra layer of fun and festive atmosphere. After all, most people with a geeky bone in their body also tend to enjoy Halloween because of r ..read more

Nippori 2023 – Another tiny library con

Hello weebs! I ended up attending Nippori for the first time last weekend. It's a small library con in Pori, Finland, and that probably comes as a surprise to no one since the name of the event is clearly derived from mashing together 'Nippon' (Japan) and 'Pori' hah. Anyways, Nippori is a free event and the reason I didn't do any announcement on my blog prior is because this was a rather spontaneous last-minute trip – Firith asked me if I could accompany him as he didn't want to go alone due to Pori being quite an anxiety-inducing town. I agreed because it's always nice to go somewhere ..read more

Mericon 2023 – Your friendly neighborhood pirate

Ahoy me mateys!   I'm sorry this summary is a bit late but I've honestly been extremely busy and exhausted with like a million hospital visits and other errands draining all my energy to even function so yeah, better a late summary than none at all, right? So the first ever Mericon was held earlier this month on 5th August in Rauma's main library. Rauma is an old harbor town located in southern Finland with quite a lot of maritime history – and that's also what the con was naturally themed around, name included!   I happened to be roped in early into Mericon's planning stages to assi ..read more

Hello beans and seabreams! My next con will be the brand new Mericon in Rauma, Finland, held at the main library on 5th August 2023. It's a small event with free entrance and with a focus on manga, literature and cosplay. There will be some activities to keep y'all busy like a cosplay competition, a room for drawing, a few lectures and even Artist's Alley. For more information do check out the official Instagram page. ^_^   You'll see me there as a worker or, to be more precise, in a 'right hand' role as I will be helping the main organizers with whatever small tasks that crop up ..read more

Kisuke Urahara cosplay WIP

Hello frens! I finally got around to compile the work in progress post of how I made my Urahara cosplay from Bleach, you know, the sus shopkeeper with the funny hat. Although I gotta say I didn't take very many photos of the process, partly because I forgot and partly because this was a last-minute rush project. We all know how real the con crunch can be so please cut me some slack lol.   Oh, and all the photos are taken with my phone's not-so-good camera so yeah, I'm sorry but the quality is a lot more shit than usual. I didn't have my SLR camera with me at any point while I was w ..read more
