Friday, May 3, 2024 - 10:36 AM We hope you had an enjoyable holiday of Passover and had meaningful and uplifting Seders with family and friends. Indeed it is a year with abundant challenges as we think of our brothers and sisters in Israel, the hostages, and the rise in antisemitism, yet despite that the faith and hope of the Seder night, reminded us all of the importance of being upbeat and joyous, even as we are in pain and acknowledge the very painful dynamics that are happening. Seeing the new rise in dramatic antisemitism in the colleges over the last few days, is a reminder of just ..read more

WHY DID THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ATTEND THE FUNERAL OF A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW

Friday, May 10, 2024 - 11:05 AM When a 95 year old Holocaust Survivor, Esther Greizer passed away this week, and left no descendants, her extended family were worried they wouldn't have 10 people at the funeral to show her her final respects and escort her on her final journey. Although she married, she never merited to have children due to the cruel medical experiments done on her by the Nazis. As a result it looked like she was going to have almost no one there to remember her and accompany her on her final journey. Yet the word got out, especially as it was Israel's Holocaust Remembran ..read more

Friday, April 19, 2024 - 11:38 AM The news over the last few days has certainly been challenging, as the dramatic attacks on Israel from Iran on Saturday Night unfolded. Yet together with the worry and drama, it ended up being a night of miracles as the hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles fell short or were knocked out the sky. As we spoke and had a video call with my sister in law in Jerusalem after Shabbat who was wide awake from seeing and hearing the huge explosions in the sky overhead, we couldn't help but be so grateful for the modern day miracles which unfolded over Israel's sky i ..read more

Monday, April 22, 2024 - 11:30 AM Why is this Year different than so many other years? Israel and the Jewish people are under attack! Why is the joy of the Seder this year, tinged with pain and sadness? We are still missing over 130 hostages and we are thinking of the many hundreds of Seder Tables who are missing loved ones this year. Why do the messages of "in every generation they arise to destroy us" touch a different chord this year? Since antisemitism is running rampant in so many institutions that supposedly represent tolerance and sophisticated education, among many other places. Why do ..read more

Is History Repeating Itself?

The Jews were facing rising antisemitism all over the world.  The forces of evil held tremendous sway over the sentiment on the street, media, educational campuses and even the leadership of the world superpower. Many Jews were intimidated and lowered their heads, hid their identity, or bowed down to the antisemites in fear and trepidation, in the vein hope that somehow this would make them fit in and be likable. Many even attended events in which they themselves, the Jewish people, were denigrated, made fun of, and had their religious symbols mocked in public.  P ..read more

Friday, February 16, 2024 - 3:55 PM Thank you to the huge crowd who showed up last night to hear Daniel & Neria Sharabi, two survivors and heroes from the Nova Festival, who fought back and held off the terrorists for five hours, while giving life saving medical treatment to wounded, and who ultimately helped save dozens of people on Oct 7th. Hearing from people who ran back into the fray and for hours teetered between being killed and continuing to save so many, was mind blowing. They spoke of their friends who were murdered before their eyes, and of their very close friend Yosef Ohana (Y ..read more

Friday, December 22, 2023 - 8:05 AM Did you shed tears since Oct 7th? How many tears I have only seen and heard over the last few months....  and not all of the tears were the tears of others.... Painful situations, cause us grief and bring emotions that can overwhelm us, and we cry in pain and in grief. Sometimes, it is the opposite and it is joy that causes us to cry as we shed tears of joy from an uplifting and powerful moment. I remember when we told our four oldest children that they were going to have a new sibling, and some of them cried tears of joy, as their faces ..read more
