Makar Sankranti is a major harvest festival celebrated in various parts of India. On this day Sun moves from Dakshinayana to Uttarayana, in the month of Poush in mid-January, it commemorates the beginning of the harvest season and cessation of the northeast monsoon in South India. Makar Sankranti is perhaps the only Indian festival whose date always falls on the same day every year i.e on 14th January.It is also believed to mark the arrival of spring in India.

Pongal is a four-day harvest festival of Tamil Nadu, celebrated with gusto and fervor, by the Tamil in the state.

Vishram Ghat is a ghat, a bath and worship place, on the banks of river Yamuna in Mathura, India. It is the main ghat of Mathura and is central to other 25 Ghats.
