Arsenal have been snubbed by Martin Zubimendi – and Barcelona boss Xavi has hailed the Real Sociedad star as a ‘great player’.
The Gunner are in the market for a new midfielder ahead of the transfer deadline after an injury to Mohamed Elneny.
Everton’s Amadou Onana and Juventus ace Weston McKennie are just two names being linked with a move to North London.
Yet it appears that Arsenal have already failed with a move to sign one midfielder.
The Daily Mail report that Arsenal have held talks over a move to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
It’s stated that Arsenal were willing to p ..read more

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has questioned the logic of signing Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal, telling talkSPORT (24 January, 11.30pm) that the Premier League-bound winger is not an obvious upgrade on Lucas Moura.
The raw statistics, however, speak for themselves. In the last two full seasons, Danjuma has scored 33 goals. He averaged almost one every two games during his debut season at Villarreal; netting against Bayern Munich, Atalanta and Juventus en route to the Champions League semi-finals.
Did we mention that Danjuma isn’t even what you would call a ‘pro ..read more

Unai Emery is certainly wasting no time putting his stamp on this rather disjointed, Frankenstein-esque Aston Villa squad.
Last week, Frederic Guilbert – a man who had not made a Premier League appearance since the final game of 2019/20 – returned to France with former employers Strasbourg, his contract terminated by mutual consent. Morgan Sanson could soon be joining his fellow claret-and-blue misfit on the German border.
Emery admitted, before Saturday’s hard-fought 1-0 win at Southampton, that offers for Marvelous Nakamba would be considered too. And with Alex Moreno becoming t ..read more

Pavel Kucherov admits he recommended Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to Everton and Arsenal during his time as a scout at the Premier League duo, speaking to FanDay.
With arguably the world’s greatest shot-stopper a nailed-on starter at the Santiago Bernabeu, opportunities have been few and far between in the Spanish capital for 23-year-old Ukraine international Lunin.
He has started just four La Liga games all season; only stepping into the starting XI with Thibaut Courtois unavailable due to a back problem.

West Ham United are showing an interest in Almeria and La Liga enforcer Samuel ‘Samu’ Costa after Premier League rivals Wolves missed out on the Portugal youth star, according to Estadio Deportivo.
Swatting aside an insipid Everton 2-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the Hammers are celebrating their first league win since late-October. And is it any real nocoincidence that their long winless run came to an end after David Moyes relegated Tomas Soucek to the substitute’s bench?
The Czech Republic international is far from the only West Ham player who’s form has taken a nosed ..read more
