Swamp Mission A Little Slice of Heaven: Partnering with God to create a safe, spiritual space for belonging and learning through play, connection, community & wonder. Loneliness has become an epidemic within our culture. When surveyed, 71% of Gen Z said they often or sometimes feel lonely. While the younger generation is often digitally connected and surrounded by people, they can struggle with meaningful relational connection. Camp Swamp has always focused on belonging, connection, and community in real life. The safe space at Camp fosters relationships during the camp ..read more

WITH - Our Summer Theme 2024
Swamp Camp

We at Camp Swamp are excited to announce our theme for the summer: WITH. The story of God’s rescue of the Israelites in Exodus is one of the earliest stories our kids learn in Sunday School class but our familiarity with it often robs us from recognizing the power of the story and the truths about God. We will study the unlikely heroes in chapters 1 and 2, God’s patience with Moses in chapters 3 and 4, God’s challenge of the polytheistic worldview of Egypt in chapters 7 through 11, God’s unforgettable deliverance in chapters 11 and 12, and the ..read more

Swamp Camp

Camp Swamp offers a unique opportunity for our teenage campers to serve as “teen workers” for a week each summer. Teen workers take on various responsibilities: cleaning the dining hall, washing dishes, managing the canteen, and organizing camp events.  Listen to Raquel’s story and the profound impact serving as a teen worker at Camp Swamp has had on her life. “I still remember my first week as a teen worker almost eight years ago. I remember all the hard work and laughing so hard that I lost my voice. The worker crew bonded quickly and deeply. I saw one of my fe ..read more

Learning Through Play

At Camp Swamp, we believe in learning through play. Every week we remind our campers that one of our goals is to HAVE FUN! Through the thirty plus years of camp, we recognize how much God can do in us and through us when we set up opportunities for extended play at camp. We prefer experiential learning with structured and unstructured time over a rigid schedule that mimics the traditional school or church conference setting. Active learning through games, challenges, and informal social interactions develops social and emotional skills. We all reco ..read more

Water Safety & Lifeguards at Camp Swamp
Swamp Camp

Every summer, lots of our campers enjoy swimming in the pool, and fishing and canoeing at the lake. As parents and camp directors, physical safety around the pool and the lake is very important to us. We have lifeguards at the pool and lake every time we use those spaces to keep everyone safe near water. We conduct swim tests on Mondays to know our campers’ abilities. We require life vests when on boats in the lake. Campers and teen workers know that unauthorized trips to the pool or lake will result in an automatic trip home. One of the lifeguards shared her story of stepping up to this resp ..read more

Building Connection and Community through Parent Retreats
Swamp Camp

Every year we plan four different parent retreats to help parents make memories with their children, away from the distractions of devices and the hectic schedules of daily life. We recognize how important it is to be intentional in our precious moments with our children, no matter their age or developmental stage. Earlier this month we hosted the Father Daughter retreat, with daughters from 7 to 22 years old. Dads and daughters danced, painted, created, played, ate, and laughed together. They shared hugs and expressed their affection and care for each other ..read more

Hello my friend, this is Mr. Sonny giving you an update on me and Mrs. Carolyn. We are retired and living in Alpharetta close to Neal and Wilson and their girls. We are in pretty good health and grateful for the years spent at camp with you.  I am WRITING A BOOK ABOUT CAMP and need YOUR HELP. My plan is to talk about all the lessons I learned at camp. I thought that I am not the only person who learned some lessons. There had to be others who learned some as well. I  am sending you one of the chapters in the book.  Perhaps you can pick one of the pillars and write a paragraph ab ..read more
