Camp Telaphiba hosts hundreds of dancers from all across the country every year. December 2021 - What does TELAPHIBA even mean?  People often ask where our camp name came from. First, I would love to help with how to say Telaphiba. You pronounce it Tell-A-Fee-Buh. Camp Telaphiba is a unique experience for everyone who comes - staff, as well as campers. There are so many opportunities for “firsts”, for GROWTH - which is one of our core values! I can’t really describe it but... Camp holds a special place in my heart. Every time I think about it, I smile. With fear of sounding cliche, it really is a magical place. As I think about it, I realize that it doesn’t really have all that much to do with the activities we do. It has to do with the people who come. It is the staff who remember what it is like to be a child, to feel a little worried about being away from home and not knowing anyone. During the holiday season, I have struggled with trying to find meaningful gifts for my two sons who are now 12 and 14.
