Instructions for this paint include the following warning: To avoid potential wrinkling wait at least two weeks before starting the engine. Has any member in this group used this paint, gotten impatient and not waited the entire two week cure time? Any problems? I've used this paint in the past and know how good it is. I'm about to use it again but time restraints may prevent waiting that long before starting the engine. Thanks in advance for your feedback. ('53 straight-8, brush-on application ..read more

Hi all, I recently purchased a 1931 Pontiac Model 401 Four Door Sedan. The front fenders and running boards are in pretty bad shape. It doesn't seem like there's much out there for sale. I was wondering if they can be interchanged with a Chevy or Oldsmobile. If someone has an idea, please let me know. Thank you ..read more

Good day to all! I am slowly working through the bugs on my recently purchased 1952 Chieftain. We love this car!
Next up is the convertible top. It appears to be all original and completely stock. When I hit the switch the motor works and it will move the top, but not very well. I can tell it's a fluid issue. I topped of the fluid reservior, which is behind the back seat, and it quickly leaked out the passenger side of the car. The top worked very well as the fluid leaked out. So that's a good sign. I'm guessing either a cylinder or a hose. I have read if it's a cylinder is best to repl ..read more

Been a while since I've posted. Looking through the latest Smoke Signals I see dealers offered a rear trunk option. I have a trunk but did not mount it when I did my 30 because the mounts were so cobbled up. Anyone have information on the hardware used?
Photos would be great.
Thanks in advance.  ..read more

Good day all!
I am in dire need of the rear main parking brake cable assy for my 1952 Pontiac Chieftain. I already tried CPR and inline tube without luck. I have also searched E-bay too, but don't see anything.
I'm looking for a new one or NOS if you have any leads please let know. Also a part number would be great too. I still need to find a master parts book.
My original is frozen and frayed, not safe.
Thanks!
Phillip
