I actually looked at this car about 20 years ago, very interesting and solid survivor of less than 100 made according to Jim Wangers. I was really tempted to make a serious offer on it, and if it was a manual trans I probably would have reached a deal on it, but I was still working on my 77 Astre Formula at the time so I passed on it. That and it is a 75 and all my spare parts are for the later 76-79 Astre/Sunbirds What do you all think about it... Read more ..read more

Sway bar figment issue

Tried replacing the broken sway bar on my 2001 Aztek , got the old one out and realized the new one is about 1 1/2” shorter and also bent differently than the old. Called two different auto parts stores and they gave me the same part number 927-100 from Dorman. I tried putting the part in but when you turn fully to the left or right, it hits the tie rod end. Has anyone found a good fitting swaybar for their Aztek ..read more

71 lemans overheating

Good afternoon, I am having issues with my car running hot when in parades and at highway speeds. If I drive normally at 55mph and not 70mph the car runs at 185 to 190 degrees. I have checked the gap between the water pump and the seperator plate and only recently noticed that in stock configuration, the 350 motor runs a 4 blade fixed fan and a 2 core radiator. I have access to a 4 core and I have since installed a 5 blade flex fan. Will the 4 core be enough to resolve this issue or should... Read more ..read more

1975 Pontiac 350 oil and additives

This may come across as a dumb question but I figured you guys could help me out. My 75 grand lemans is well over due for an oil change. It's been a daily driver and I drive it pretty hard everytime I drive it. I'm big on letting the car warm up until the coolant temp rises. I ask about this because this is my first older v8 car, beside my 1988 350 suburban. I've heard these older engines thrive on higher zinc oil or oil with additives and I'd like to hear what you guys suggest I run... Read more ..read more

Brake problems

From my last post, I mentioned how I had replaced the master cylinder on my 2001 Pontiac Aztec. Had lots of trouble finding an exact match for master cylinder and the one I got looked identical, except for the threaded bore size where the brake lines go in. After getting adapters and installing it, brakes are worse than ever. Before they were soft and squishy, and when you’re at a light, the pedal would slowly go to the floor making me think there were some leaks in the master cylinder. Now... Read more ..read more

Rear window installation

Doing a restoration on our 1966 Tempest Custom and had the windows removed prior to bead blasting the car. How is the rear window held in when we reinstall it? It seems right now that it just sits on the ledge where the window hits the body above the truck lid. There are no j-hooks or any type of edge or rim for the window to rest against. What are we missing? Thanks, Terry ..read more
