Breckenridge Distillery established National Après Day on March 31. Breckenridge Distillery claims to be the ‘World’s Highest Distillery’ at 9,600ft. The distillery was founded in 2008 and is known for its blended bourbon whiskey, a high-rye mash American-style whiskey. Their Bourbon is one of the most highly awarded crafted bourbon: winning ‘Best American Blended’ each year from 2016-2019 at the World Whiskies Awards.

I arrived in Alaska on March 21st for my 16th ski trip here and my 2nd season of heli-ski guiding.
I went through 4 days of guide training with Pulseline Adventure:

After guide training, my clients arrived on Saturday and we were ready to roll on Sunday.
On Sunday morning we took the clients through aircraft safety and avalanche rescue.
Once cleared to fly, we went straight to the Pencil Glacier and dropped off on Snow Cone.

A 66-year-old woman is suing Vail Resorts after the rescue toboggan she was riding in allegedly overturned, causing her further injuries in addition to the injury she was rescued for, reports the Denver Post.

According to the UC Berkeley Central Snow Laboratory at 6,900′ on Donner Pass, CA, which has been keeping precise snowfall records since 1946, March 2023 is the snowiest March in recorded history for the Lake Tahoe area.

The unprecedented snowfall in the Sierra Nevadas has created problems for individuals looking to climb popular routes in California. Although the nearly 700 inches of snow that the Northern and Central California ski resorts have seen has been a welcoming sight for skiers and snowboarders, the climbing community of the area is unfortunately not as happy.

Today was another epic bluebird day at Eaglecrest Ski Area, AK.
There were up to four inches of fresh snow, the temperatures were in the low 20s, and hardly a breath of wind.

At approximately 12:30 on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a large avalanche in the area of Gold Ridge near Hardscrabble. The incident involved seven Morgan County residents on two snowcats.
