Kerala Fighter Syam Prasad was the first-ever Welterweight champion in the Super Fight League. Syam Prasad won the SFL Welterweight title back in 2012 at SFL 13 when he defeated Bhabajeet Choudhury via a Rear-Naked Choke in the second round of their match.   In the same event, SFL had crowned three more champions as well.
