Lorna moved to Australia from Scotland in the 80s for, as she puts it the “nicer weather”, but it wasn’t long before Lorna had thrown herself into the world of Australian nursing. This week Shaye is joined by a giant in Australia’s nursing history, Valda Wiles AM. Valda commenced her nursing career in 1956, and was a pioneer in the field of critical care nursing. She was also instrumental in winning today’s clinical care structure and the introduction of Clinical Nurse Specialists in our nursing teams.
