These fish were sold as European tank bred Rio Nanay. I am having difficulty finding domestic bred wild varieties. They look different from other Rio Nanays I have seen online. Could they possibly be some other variety? Also, the ventrals appear to be on the short side. These fish are young. Will the ventral lengthen as they mature ..read more

Good morning! All the way from SA! I am a new fish mom I have 3 ranchu’s which I have for about a month now. I introduced a new member to them yesterday - panda oranda. I noted that the new fish seems to be following the smaller ones everywhere and occasionally nipping them. Sounds weird, but if they poo, it seems like the panda keeps following them while they are pooping. I have attached a photo for more clarity. Is this normal? Should I just give it some time to adjust? Thank you all... Read more ..read more

I have a 55 gallon tank that has been set up for a couple weeks. A few days ago I added a small blood parrot about 2” then the next day I added an electric blue acara and a fire mouth who are both probably also around 2” (all three can be seen on my profile picture) and the blood parrot has been chasing them around very frequently. It seems to get worse around feeding time. Ammonia nitrite and nitrate were all good when I checked. What can I do to either calm the blood parrot or prevent its... Read more ..read more

I'm a semi beginner but I still need guidance. I have a 6.5 gal with 2 dwarf frogs and a nerite in it. I'm planning on moving, so when I move I want to reset my tank. If I have a heavily planted tank with a rockscape with a Fluval c3 will I be able to house 1 honey gourami, a school of 5-6 tetras, and 1m + 3f guppies, plus a couple of ghost shrimp, and 1 golden clam ..read more

Good evening everyone! So we have a Black Molly who looks like a little blimp. She (I’m assuming) stays in the large green plant that we have for the most part, doesn’t eat much and she just seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Can someone please advise if we do have a pregnant fishie or if she is sick? Much appreciated in advance! I’m going to try to attach a picture. Also if she is pregnant, can you possibly tell us how far along she may be ..read more

These fish arrived a week ago. They are not a proven pair & I an unconcerned with their genders. I have never known new arrivals to refuse food for more than a day or two. I have offered them what the breeder fed: brine shrimps, blood worms & pellets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ..read more
