This weekend sees the start of the 2024 Montane Summer Spine race
The Montane Summer Spine is a non-stop, 268 mile race along the most iconic national trail in Britain; the Pennine Way. Beginning from Edale in Derbyshire, runners have a time limit of 156 hours to reach the finish line.

Ultrarunner Sophie Power sets new Trans-Ireland record surpassing the previous record set by Mimi Anderson in 2012 of 3:15:36:00.
Starting on Tuesday morning May 28th in the very north in Malin Head Sophie Power and her team set off to establish a new record for the distance finishing at Mizen Head in the south, approximately 350 miles away.
With lots of updates on social media, Sophie, who rose to fame after breastfeeding her infant during the 2018 UTMB race, reached Mizen Head in 3:12:09:00.

The 2024 Dartmoor Discovery (DD) ultramarathon which takes place Saturday 8th June 2024, promises to be one of the most thrilling in its history, as last year’s winner, Joe Beaton, returns to defend his trophy, facing a tough challenge from veteran two-time winner Adam Holland.

History was made at the 2024 Spine Race with winner Jack Scott smashing the course record by more than 10 hours.
The INOV8 athlete completed the 268-mile winter race, widely regarded as one of the toughest ultrarunning endurance events in the world, in an astonishing time of 72 hours 55 minutes.
The 29-year-old ultrarunner crushed the previous record of 83 hours 12 minutes, famously set by Jasmin Paris in 2019. INOV8 team-mate Damian Hall, last year’s winner, came second in 82 hours 25 minutes, also going under the old record.

There aren’t many events which come with the description of being a cross between the Marathon des Sables and the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc.
But that’s what one of the runners called this incredible five day slog through the beautiful foothills of Nepal. The combination of rolling hills and gruelling climbs with a multiday format meant I could certainly see how they’d come up with that particular comparison.

The GOMU 48 Hour World Championships 2023 started earlier today at 10:00 am at the Blackbridge Athletics track in Gloucester.
The Gloucester 48 Hour first took place in 2021 and takes a huge step forward in hosting the World Championships in a modality that in the past wasn’t promoted to any degree.
