Hi everyone!
So some time ago I made a small prototype of a game about placing satellites. Right now the player can launch them and set orbits. The satellites have different colors and ideally I'd make the ones of the same color collide when they meet. This means the core gameplay is lauching as many satellites as possible without them colliding or preventing such collisions whenever possible.
The very raw prototype can be seen here:...

Hi!
I need to build 20 km x 20 km large terrain with lakes. Chunking and other things will be done by others. Building 1 piece from lidar maps and texturing is not such a issue. I need to know some concepts, how that is usually done for game dev, Unity.
1. How many polygons, triangles should 1 base terrain (hills, plains, valleys, lakes) have without any vegetation or trees, objects placed,.. What is the max upper limit for desktop?
2. I usually texture terrains in Substance Painter, still...

Hello,

2. the dash/single letter placeholder of the next letter that is empty flashes (to indicate it is the next one to be filled) - this is optional but could look nicer
3. Allow only letters and max length (based on the dashes/single letter placeholders)
Is the only option to create X separate input fields, one per...

I am looking into implementing a drawing mechanic for a first person game. The mechanic will be that the player will bring a piece of paper, parchment, clipboard, etc. in front of them so that it stays within the camera forward view when looking around. I have that part done.
Now I am looking into being able to use the mouse cursor (and probably a player model hand in the future) that draws on the 3D object by holding click. Any lines drawn will be retained on the object. The player will...
