Carbonyl Diflouride is the toxic chemical that is commonly inhaled when "huffing", a practice that is common to induce euphoric like effects. Today we get a chance to talk to Paul Reeves and Wayne Papalski about their SAR programs in US and Australia. Paul is an Australian search and rescue intensive care paramedic working in Broome in western Australia and Wayne is a US Navy search and rescue paramedic and a member of the ECHO military team. This was a great discussion that started out about SAR and SAR programs and transformed into a discussion of training, education and combating complacency.
