Yesterday we had a water leaking on the floor from the main water line. It looked like it might have been leaking from the connection that goes to the water meter. It turned out that nut came loose on the shut off valve.
While I had the washing machine moved out the way to fix the water leak. I thought I would test the transformer for the door bell. The door bell hasn’t worked in quite some time. I haven’t looked into til now. The transformer tested fine. So I started to trace the wires in the crawlspace. The posts are 2 pieces of nontreated 2×8 sitting right on top of that concrete. One is barely touching the surface. Kind of a head scratcher.
No metal ties anywhere top or bottom. I was afraid to look closely at the connection ( screws ) between the wood and that concrete surface.

Got a coat of poly on all my trim stock. Then a light sanding and got a 2nd coat on a bit of it. It may be install time by the end of the week. I have to take the old stuff off first though. I will do it as I go ..read more
