Wedding Musician in Fort Wayne
The Classic Harpist

The rainy weekend sent another wedding to their indoor back-up location. As much as every couple planning an outdoor ceremony hopes it works out, the weather is unpredictable and you’ll feel better having an option ready for relocation. For Audra and Scott, they planned to marry on the Wells Street Bridge in downtown Fort Wayne, but the cold and rain moved them inside. Fortunately, their back-up location was just steps away at Promenade Park Pavilion, where they could still see the bridge through the picture windows. Prelude music as guests took their seats included “A Thousand Years,” “My Ow ..read more

Wedding at Funks Grove | Central Illinois Harpist
The Classic Harpist

I have played for several weddings at Funks Grove, many of which have taken place outdoors in the Chapel of the Templed Trees. A rainy Friday the 13th moved this ceremony indoors, and the historic chapel on the grounds was a beautiful and cozy back-up! Katelyn and Chris didn’t want traditional music for their ceremony. The harp is perfect for this – a classic look and sound, all while playing covers of songs you know and love! They chose “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks for the family seating, followed by “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis for the wedding party processional. The bride’s own en ..read more

Rebecca and Jacob hosted their entire wedding at the Reitz House Museum in historic downtown Evansville, Indiana. On a beautiful fall day, their guests gathered on the lawn of the museum, and the ceremony took place on the porch. For the prelude during guest arrival, I played a selection of light recognizable classics and contemporary love songs. The wedding party processional was “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” followed by “Dandelions” by Ruth B. for the bride’s entrance. The couple requested light background music throughout the ceremony, and then the jazz standard “At Last” by Etta James fo ..read more

Dubuque Harpist ~ Wedding Music at Steeple Square
The Classic Harpist

What a magnificent space! Dubuque is fortunate to have a dedicated group of people preserving the historic St. Mary’s Church as Steeple Square, and making it available to the community for weddings and events. Valeria and Tyson held their ceremony and reception in the church’s former sanctuary. With its beautiful architecture and harp music to fill the space, it was the perfect start to the celebration! I played as guests arrived and were seated, with the music including light classical pieces and some more contemporary love songs. The wedding party came down the aisle to “Canon in D” by Jo ..read more

Last year, I played for the reception at a conference at the Genesis Heart Institute, and the hosts were so delighted with the Arabic music I played that they invited me back again! Along with contemporary songs from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Adele, and Coldplay, I played some light classical music and popular Arabic pieces, including “Bint el Shalabiya,” “Shayif el-Bahr,” and “El Hiwa Di.” I play songs you may not expect to hear on the harp! Whether you are wanting music to highlight your culture and heritage or want to wow your guests with rock ballads, I’d love to be your harpist! Visit ..read more

Wedding Music in Southwest Michigan

Southwest Michigan is full of beautiful venues, from wineries to grand banquet halls to the beaches of Lake Michigan. One I’ve returned to many times over the years is the Morris Estate. I’ve even played here before the much-appreciated addition of air conditioning! The chapel has maintained its simple charm, and is a lovely place to hold your ceremony. The harp fits in perfectly, and it has fantastic acoustics for the instrument! Claire and Andrew held their entire wedding celebration on site, with the chapel ceremony preceding the cocktail hour on the lawn and reception in the adjacent tent ..read more

Jama and Brittany were married just before sunset just outside Marquette at the Little Presque Isle State Park. They love the north woods, and wanted to include the beauty of Lake Superior and forest in their ceremony. The daytime crowds had gone from the park, and an intimate group of friends and family gathered under the trees as harp music played. The final piece of the prelude, as family circled together, was Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.” The wedding party and brides entered from the beach, over a small hill. It was beautiful with the sunset behind them! For the wedding party proc ..read more

Harpist in St. Louis – Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music
The Classic Harpist

Autumn and Nathan gathered with friends and family to celebrate their wedding at Schwarz Barn in rural Highland, Illinois. This venue is an easy drive from St. Louis, and features a rustic barn and a lakeside ceremony setting. With rain off and on all day, they originally planned to move the ceremony indoors to the loft. I brought two harps with me, so set up one downstairs where I’d be playing for cocktail hour, then took one upstairs for the ceremony. That would make the transition between the two elements quicker, and I wouldn’t have to worry about wheeling the big harp down the stairs wit ..read more

Wedding Music in Northern Wisconsin – Harp/Violin/Cello Trio
The Classic Harpist

The harp is a beautiful and elegant choice as a solo instrument, but works equally well in combination with others! For this wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, Annelise and Tom chose a classical trio of harp, violin, and cello. The Red Crown Lodge on the shores of Trout Lake was the setting for the outdoor ceremony. It’s an historic corporate retreat, and is a lovely and peaceful space that showcases the best of the natural beauty of Northern Wisconsin. Our trio played prelude music as guests were seated for the ceremony. They requested classical music prior to the service, including Handel ..read more

Mackinac Island is a dreamy location for a wedding of any size, but especially for microweddings and elopements! It’s the perfect place to step back in time with your closest family and friends to celebrate your marriage. Corrie and Chris eloped to Mackinac Island from Pittsburgh after falling in love with the place and seeing a harpist at the Grand Hotel. They chose the gazebo at Mission Point Resort for their ceremony. Their guest list was basically the wedding party, too! For the processional of the groom and everyone except the bride, I played “Night Moves” by Bob Seger. Corrie’s walk do ..read more
