There’s a big debate in the physio world at the moment about posture. Whether there is good posture, bad posture. Whether we should be correcting people or advising they change their posture… Thing is posture is not a problem – whether you have good or bad posture – until it is a problem and causes pain. So my humble 2 cents worth… Yes – posture CAN cause pain. I am old school – I grew up when we had to stand up straight, chest out, shoulders back. We were taught not to lean on our elbows at the dining table, you had to eat at the table – not in front of the TV. At school we couldn’t write wit ..read more

Managing chronic pain takes trust. As a physio  most the clients  we see  are in Pain – and they generally fall under two different categories…passive and active. What does that mean? We switched our practise model over to a pro active one a decade ago – so we run a fully functional, fully equipped Pilates studio alongside our clinic. We can service clients right from acute injury all the way through to elite sports rehab and absolutely everything in between….and through the process of what we do and what we offer we naturally attract those clients who are pro active. They want ..read more

Make 2020 the year you take control and say no more to back pain. Back pain sucks – but it really doesn’t have to be that way! My aim for 2020 is to share my knowledge and educate as many people as I can with what I know works for back pain. I’ve been a physio for over 25 years working with and managing people with back pain and what I share with you has been my accumulated knowledge of exactly what works and why – and its not what you think! In our online program for back pain we’ll be covering: PAIN – what type of pain you have, why you have it – from when it comes to what makes it worse and ..read more

Pain Sucks. Back Pain Sucks. Posture Pain Sucks. I get it – I get that you’re scared and worried about what to do from here. I know you’ve been trying to hide how much it gets you down. The having to think about how you’re gonna cope and manage every single day, when all you want to do is pull the covers over your head and stay in bed. It’s mentally draining and physically exhausting for you. Knowing that whatever relief you get – it’s short lived. Whatever you’ve tried in the past – has not ‘held’ – and you feel you take 3 steps forward and then 4 steps back. And I hear you. I know where you ..read more
