Talk therapy found to ease fatigue in MS – with or without follow-up Benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy sustained to end of 1-year trial A 20-week talk therapy program led to significant reductions in fatigue for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) — benefits that were sustained to the end of the year-long trial regardless of whether patients participated in additional booster sessions. Such sessions were offered two and four months after the end of the initial cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, program. But researchers found that neither attending nor skipping these follow-ups had ..read more

New study suggests possible targets for multiple sclerosis vaccine development A team of scientists from the Center for Virology and the Department of Neurology at the Medical University of Vienna has now succeeded in identifying several mechanisms that protect people from an EBV-induced autoimmune reaction and thus potentially from MS. The study, recently published in the journal Cell, suggests possible targets for the development of a vaccine to protect against MS. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2023-...s-vaccine.html ..read more

Good morning. This morning I did it again. I mixed up my meds and this time it means I doubled my usual tizanidine. I always think I’m taking the right pills, but sometimes I just mess up. Today, this affects not only me, but also my husband who now has to stay home from work and drive me to pick up our grandson from school this morning as it’s not safe for me to drive. I’m so frustrated with myself. So, I’m curious what everyone does to make sure they take the right meds at the right time. I’m currently using a morning and night pill box with the afternoon pill (the extra tizanidine) tucked ..read more

Whole body stiffness

Does anyone else experience whole-body stiffness from their MS? I am postmenopausal so not sure if that's the issue. I do have lesions on my C1, C2, C5 & C6. It's the kind of stiffness that doesn't resolve with stretching. It seems like when I get a bout of this, I'm also really constipated. Don't want to be paranoid that it is Parkinson's...but I am 57 and my grandmother did have Parkinson's ..read more
