A man is charged with felony child abduction and luring of a minor after following a 14-year-old girl who was walking home from school Monday in the 5000 block of South Long Avenue in Stickney Township.

A Southwest Side man is accused of trying to abduct a 14-year-old girl this week in Stickney Township.

A man was shot and killed Tuesday in the South Shore neighborhood.
Officers responding about 7 p.m. to the 6700 block of South Chappel Avenue found the 59-year-old with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, Chicago police said.

A man was killed in a shooting at a bar Friday in northwest suburban Schiller Park.
The shooting occurred about 11 p.m. at Sway Bar, 9420 W. Irving Park Road, the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
Jonathan Vallejo, 38, of River Grove, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital, the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Anwar A. last saw her uncle Mohannad Othman a month ago in Michigan as they prepared for a family wedding in May.
On Tuesday, she was in Oak Forest as the family mourned Othman. The 39-year-old was fatally shot outside his parents' Oak Forest home Sunday, less than a mile from where he lived.

The off-duty killing of Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca over the weekend was formally classified as a line-of-duty death on Tuesday — what would’ve been his 31st birthday.
