Soon to be MS4 applying to residency in September. I’ve had a rough time figuring out my specialty but at this point I’ve narrowed it down to IM + subspecialty or radiology I think.
I’ve posted before but I really like the knowledge base of IM, but I kinda hate the day to day of it.
Without writing a personal statement I started gaining interest in radiology during my clinical year (second year for my school). It started with looking at the imaging of some of my patients and then evolved...

Not asking for advice.
My sister had MR shoulder done Tuesday. She got the CD at visit. No official read after 5 days.
That’s crap. What’s wrong with the service line there? She is a physician as well.

Has anyone heard of hospitals subsidizing DR groups for coverage or offering pay per click at a premium/higher than standard reimbursement rate for reading their studies? Everyone is talking about how great the job market is, but with reimbursement continuously falling and radiology profit being directly tied to how much/what is read im worried that were heading towards a cliff regarding pay. You'd hope that with demand for radiologists far exceeding the supply, something would eventually...

Hey everyone, rising M4 here deciding whether or not to take a research year (come from a top med school with very high step but no publications). I am 100% interested in private practice with 0 interest in academics. Due to personal reasons Boston is highly prefered for me. With that said, I understand without publications I have a minimal chance of matching MGH or BWH (mentor agrees), but have a decent shot at matching BIDMC given my step and school name/strong recs. I thought it was a...
