I have a ten year old Trailblazer 302 that probably has less than 10 hours on it..
Symptoms:
No power for welding, no power at the plugs. When it first starts, it produces 120/240 at the plugs for about 15 seconds and during that time, it will power a drill or a grinder, then the power dies.
Observations: The engine runs well. The battery was jump started and I'm aware of the issues with PC1. Measuring voltage on the slip ring contacts, the exciter coil gets voltage for 15 seconds and then the voltage going to the exciter coils dies. I believe the wire is number 133 going to the RC25-1 plug ..read more

Greetings ! I have an XMT 304 cc/cv 230/460 volt model s/n LG170401A. Machine powers on in stick mode with 5.7 or 7.7 volts OCV and whatever amperage I set from 0-400 amps. There are no error codes displayed. There are no apparent signs of any burned components on any of the boards. Walked thru the pre-power check list with all looking normal except for some erroneous readings I blame on my meter. Unplugged the Hall device with no effect. The machine sat indoors unused for about 10 yrs. After taking the display board out for inspection and reinstalling unit powered up and welded showing 85 volt ..read more

question, how should you proceed to correctly weld a lifting hook onto the bucket of an earthmoving machine? Can it be welded on top of the sheet metal or is it better to make a slit with the torch and also weld it from the inside by embedding it and fitting it securely? Thank you ..read more

Hello forum!
I have been lurking for quite some time, this is my first ever real need to post as I usually don't have much to contribute that hasn't already been covered.
My situation:
I have the chance to buy a 302 Trailblazer, LJ220541Q. I don't know anything about it's history, I was just told to make an offer. I never ran a Trailblazer before, usually Bobcats or a Lincoln SA. I just wanted to try to get some input so I can make a decision that isn't just an uneducated guess.
I think the machine was used for a donor or had an issue with the fuel tank, the reason I am leaning this way is ..read more

Does anyone use their inverter machines in freezing weather? Are there any precautions I
should take using my dynasty 210 dx and my propulse 220 mts in freezing weather? Should I store them inside or is it ok to store them in the unheated barn? Read somewhere it’s a good idea to turn them on and let them warm up before appyling a load. Any help would be appreciated before the weather in PA gets really cold. Our machines at work were always in the warm except our Miller Bobcat that we used for everything outside ..read more

I bought this welder from a novice for home use. Has anyone experienced a delay in the "auto-set" mode, before the light comes on and starts to weld properly? When I select auto-set for either wire size the light won't come on and the welder won't weld properly. If I keep fiddling with the knob for wire size, eventually the blue light come on and the unit begins to weld properly. I'm using gas and 120 volt mode. Any advise would be appreciated. I have made sure that the polarity is correct for solid wire. Welding mild steel ..read more

Hi All, I am troubleshooting a friends 350P Aluminum MIG, SN-MH053040N, with the XR-Aluma Pro push pull gun. Every trigger pull throws a HELP 6 code and the motor on the push pull gun never turns.
I tracked the negative motor power lead back to MOSFET Q24 on the PC-1 board, which is shown in the attached picture. It sure looks failed to me. In circuit testing with a multimeter shows Q23 and Q24 are both shorted and Q21 and Q22 are not. Kevin at Miller Tech was very helpful and gave me the part number for Q21-Q24, Fairchild FDD3682.
What would be the best way to remove the conformal coating b ..read more
