I have only done a little bit of stick welding and would like to learn Tig and/or MiG welding. Specifically, I want to weld Aluminum and stainless.
Are there guidelines tabulated for current and gas used in welding a given thickness of a specific material ..read more

I don't understand what the purpose is of all these small hand held load testers. Someone talked me into buying an OTC 130 amp load tester, said it worked and was easier than dragging out the old 500 amp unit and cranking the dial. Well it is a lot easier to use, small and you just push a button, but how does 130 amps truly put a load on a starting battery?
My neighbor has a small car and it wouldn't start this morning. I fully charged it till all cells were gassing and cleaned the connections which were terrible. Then I waited 2 hours and I checked the voltage, it was at 12.7. Next I got out ..read more

Hi! My question should tell how little I know. I can’t find a serial number on this Miller Thunderbolt. The only number I can find is the style number JC-41. Does anyone know where I should look for the serial number?

I'm wondering if any members here happen to have a copy of either a Parts Breakdown, or a Service Manual, for this model Jack? If so, could you ether post it here or Email me a copy?
I recently removed a non-working pallet jack from a fellow's yard and from Internet pictures, found that it's apparently a Crown Model PTH50. A few small linkage parts are missing and the control valve is frozen but although two people suggested I exchange the valve body for a rebuilt one, I'm "too cheap" and doubt repairing the valve body is that difficult.
When I look online for a service manual or a parts bre ..read more

I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while, and despite’s thinking I did, it wasn’t the case. Can’t find anything online or in any of the books I have.
Basically I’m just trying to find a formula or process to find out how to do a basic offset, but with the top fitting turning you away from your current pipe/line. Looking for a way to do with your basic 45° angle, but also odd angles, say a long throw incline of 10° or a quick rise with a 70° or whatever you have.
Just to clarify, you’re sitting on a 12” line, inline and looking in the same direction. In front of where you’re sitting is ..read more
