Question: How do I play the piano fancier during worship songs? How do I play more than just a chord? And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and [Adam and Eve] hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” -Genesis 3:8-9 ESV YHVH called to Adam, "Ayekah!" I wanted to cry when I found out the true meaning of this word! I've never thought about it before, then I stumbled on it during some research. Ayekah has the exact same spelling in Hebrew as eikhah, which is a mournful cry, "How?! How can it be?" (See also Chesed) Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. -John 15:2 ESV The word for "branches" here in Greek, klema, actually means "tendril" or "offshoot." The usual word for "bran ..read more

and you [Pharisees] do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent. John 5:38 ESV I've been studying John 15 lately about abiding in Christ. Although "believe" is not found in chapter 15, John connects belief with abiding in Christ throughout his books. So to understand more fully what it means to abide, let's revisit the word for believe. See also: Aman--Secure Belief Like a Tent Peg The Greek word used here for believe is pisteuo. It is also translated as "entrust" in John 22:23-25. It is used 248 times in the NT, again most of those uses are John's ..read more
