Happy 6th Birthday Boy Wonder!

As my full-time work on Boy Wonder draws to a close and I prepare to start my PhD I have been thinking a lot about what I have achieved and also the plans I had that might not now happen.  The 6th birthday of the brand marks a turning point as I sideline the business to concentrate on my studies. This past year has seen the brand accrue various accolades which have been hard won and well deserved (in my humble opinion!) These include being named finalist in the Leicestershire Innovation awards 2022 – Innovations in the Creative Industries category and the Great British Entrepreneur awards ..read more

Dear readers, It is with a mixture of emotions that I announce that I have secured a place PhD place with Open University. I am really excited (and slightly daunted!) to be starting a new chapter of my life researching sustainable fashion and working with some amazing academics (Claudia Eckert & Emma Dewberry). It is a hard won place that I have been working towards for some years now on top of juggling everything else. As the business has struggled to really take off I knew I had to have a back-up plan and it has come into fruition at just the right time. Sadly, I can no longer struggle o ..read more

The Best Clothing Patches For Kids Clothes
Boy Wonder
by Ismay Mummery

Clothing patches are a quick and easy way to repair kids clothes, covering holes and stains or even to liven up and old garment. Iron-on versions make it very simple but sewing them on will make them more durable. I take a look at some of the best ones around to save you time. My advice is to choose iron-on patches and then once they are affixed you can sew around the edge to make them really durable. The glue on the back of an iron-on patch will also help to hold together any rip or hole you are trying to cover.
