Hi, I have an AC86U with disabled wifi that I’m using with unifi AP. I have 1Gb/s fiber and get 800mb/s on vpn (openvpn on the router, latest Merlin firmware) I’m looking to replace the AC86U with a wired router… I expected to easily get something as powerful but cheaper, but it seems every wired model I find is slower. DDNS at first works as expected and record is registered on asuscomm.com Problem arise when you go manually to network-map (first menu on left) and select "internet status" and apply for a switch off of "internet connection". Wait for changed to apply.... and then back to "on" to restore wan connection and get new IP. I have a Asus RT-AC68U on Merlin firmware. I have the router connected to all my devices in my house when I have the IP Vanish connected to all my devices working after a couple of days, I key the keysize 256. I use the asus router app to turn on or off the VPN. I remove it from custom configuration, but it keeps coming back. Is this normal? What can I do to stop the keysize 256 from coming back? So long story short, it was late at night and I flashed both my ET12 with EX12 latest merlin firmware. I used both as aimesh nodes previously with latest stock firmware (axe16000 as main router) but wanted to run merlin on all nodes. I didn't notice the difference on FW version (dahhh, stupid me) and I flashed with asus recovery firmware tool in recovery mode. Just a PSA, I know this isn’t an issue with Asuswrt-Merlin, but if you use SSH on your router, and use ECDSA with a P-521 secret key, and use Putty versions versions 0.68 through 0.80 then your Putty is vulnerable.
