Hi,
I recently purchased the TP link switch and Deco X50 POE and ran Cat 6 cables throughout the whole house. I have a BT router with internet speeds of 500mb.
I get wifi speeds of 500mb from the router but once I connect through the speed I get maximum speed of 9mb. It’s the same if I connect the Deco unit or plug directly into the switch.
Anyone got any ideas why this might and what I need to do to improve?
Thanks ..read more

First off:I'm not even sure if I'm posting in the right place here so I'm sorry if I'm not.
I'm working on a school project that essentially has me as part of a group building a network for a hypothetical doctor's office consisting of a total of 4 branch offices and a central office where all of the application and management servers are. We've got most of it figured out but we'd like to implement VOIP and I can't quite get a lock on what the best set-up is. They list VOIP as something...

Hello,
New member here and I'm happy to find a place where I can get some advice and learn. I've pieced my current network together from what was originally a standalone Cisco lab and tried to expand, solve some home network requirements and tie it all together as well as financially practical since this is just a hobby at present.
I started it way back with a FiOS WAN connection feeding a Cisco 3845 router, which was performing NAT and IPSEC remote access VPN to the network. A Cisco...

Hello...
Trying to start a hybrid zoom meeting for my local area of NA. We went out & purchased a laptop and a mobile hot spot (+ bluetooth mics, speaker, etc.). The laptop is running Windows 11, I believe. I set up my network connections properly, under Mobile Hotspot, w/ the Device ID & password. The laptop recognizes the device, but will not connect directly. Instead, it's asking me to connect via an internet browser. The whole point of a mobile hotspot is that it's it's own...

Hi all I’m after some help with my home network.
I have my internet coming into my garage where the ISP router is as well as my NAS and DRV. From the router I have a cable going to my house and one going to my brothers house – next door which has always worked well (this has been the setup for around 6 years and with the current ISP 2 years)
The cable going to my brothers house goes to a wireless router in access point mode and a cable from it to another access point – this is working fine...

Hi guys,
So I am slightly new at Synology and would appreciate someone with some tech experience on this.
1. How is it possibly for someone to connect to Synology server and troubleshoot the yellow blinking light that appears on the status? I started receiving the error messages when I tried to switch the drives.
Also, if at all the back of the device has only one ethernet port, how is it possible to access it and manage the device remotely? My device model is DS214play ..read more

Hi, I have a question about an example from my Computer Networking (Kurose and Ross) textbook about calculating the average delay to send an object with a proxy server. The example is as follows:
There are two networks– the institutional network and the rest of the public Internet. The origin servers are attached to the Internet but are located all over the globe. Suppose that the average object size is 1Mbits and that the average request rate from the institution's browsers to the origin...

Hi guys, I'd like some help from you guys. I work with you here in my city, and as it is inland generally companies do not spend with equipment the way they should. In one of these companies that has around 10 terminals, the server was a core "i5 1th gen" with a robust motherboard for the time that I can not remember now from the model. As this improvised server was already at the end of the day and the company needing improvements but not able to spend much (almost nothing), I set up a...

Hi
I have internet. I have a router from the ISP which is downstairs. I have a TV set-top box which requires an ethernet connection.
Is my only method to run an ethernet cable from the downstairs router up through the ceiling, into upstairs bedroom?
Or is there a more practical way?
Thx ..read more
