PPST when out?

Just finished PPST and was wondering, how much of it do you actually use when out? I know it's "gold standard" and there will be times those techniques would come in handy, but I can't even imagine using a transport arm lock... Probably ever. Any particular times that pop out to you when you've used techniques you've learnt PPST/OST that you can tell me about? I'm curious. submitted by /u/oaeum [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What's the definition of a moving traffic offence for the purpose of requesting a breath test? Would a faulty light be a "moving traffic offence" if the vehicle has been seen in motion? Or is it something like an offence owing to the vehicle being moving like speeding or driving without due care? Off you go Droids. ? submitted by /u/useful-idiot-23 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Custody sergeant

Advice please. Person A is arrested for affray. They are interviewed and the DS (ERO) NFAs the case in custody. The custody Sgt is informed of this and disagrees with that disposal and refuses to administer the NFA and instead says they person A bailed. The DS states they have made their decision so as far as they are concerned the case is NFAd. Who has the ultimate say here? And what recourse is there for the DS if the custody Sgt refuses their decision? submitted by /u/Electronic_Pickle_86 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question about careless driving (DWDCA)

Not a cop, I'm a civillian. This video here from 0:31 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQmPyaJZYE0 at the petrol station. I was in a similar situation to this a few days ago. There's no turning lane so there's often cars getting stuck in the road blocking it waiting to get into a petrol station which is full. I'd waited about a minute and a half for this car to move, during the course of which another car did what the driver did in this video, albeit not nearly hitting a pedestrian. I decided not to do that, but I don't know if what I did was worse - i put my right indicator on, and slowly beg ..read more

Looking for advice regarding a sexual assault

Afternoon all, My girlfriends mate went out with a few friends last night and ended up going home with someone. She said on the way back that she didn’t want to do anything or have sex and he agreed and said that was fine. I won’t go into too much detail but he forced himself on her even whilst she was saying no and finished inside her, despite her saying not to and she’s not on any contraception. Obviously this is rape. She’s not said anything either way about going to the police or not and I don’t want to suggest it unless necessary. I know that there’s a time frame where evidence starts to ..read more
