Although the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction occurs every 14 years, there hasn’t been one in Taurus, since 1941. So, for many of us, this will be our first and last experience of this conjunction in this Venus ruled sign! Although the last conjunction of these planets was only in 2010/2011, it felt quite different, as it was in Aries/Pisces. As the last cycle of these two planets draws to a close on Sat./Sun, (depending on your time zone), let’s look at how this new cycle might best help us with our relationships! Jupiter/Uranus in Taurus - Core Themes May 2018 brought us our first taster of Uran ..read more

The Sun in Taurus in Relationships!

The Sun ingresses into Taurus on Friday, the day of the Mercury-Venus conjunction – and of course Friday is named for Freya’s Day, the day of Venus. So Friday will be a particularly Venusian day – a good day to contact friends perhaps, socialise and appreciate loved ones. Venus of course remains in Aries, the sign of its detriment, until the 29th – so she carries a certain spirit of competition and self-willed action right now. But Venus is highlighted and given prominence by its current conjunction with the North Node. So Venusian themes are strongly with us over the coming few days – and on ..read more

Mars/Saturn conjunction in Pisces, April 10, 2024

As if the recent solar eclipse and current retrograde Mercury weren’t enough, here’s Mars now conjoined to Saturn at 14 degrees Pisces. April is proving to be a pretty intense month! Indeed, the sky offers an interesting picture – at time of writing, all the planets are within less than 120 degrees of each other from Pluto at 2 Aquarius to Uranus at 21 Taurus. This makes it a ‘Bundle’ chart, according to the chart patterns identified by Marc Edmund Jones. The ‘bundle’ type is self-contained and narrowly focused, which perhaps reflects something in the collective right now, a sense that our pe ..read more

The Solar Eclipse, April 8, 2024

The solar eclipse in Aries puts our relationships in a spotlight. We become aware of the ways in which we don’t feel free or if we feel alone. This eclipse features, a tight conjunction with the Sun, Moon and Chiron. This influence suggests we are in a healing process, individually and collectively. Aries is a sign that presents us with polarities. If we see ourselves as separate, then we tend to focus on our differences instead of ways to harmonize those differences and get along. So, both our opportunity and our challenge is to learn how to better relate with our partners, friends, or anyon ..read more

Venus in Aries, April 5, 2024

Venus entered Aries today, inviting more action and dynamism in interpersonal relationships. After a period of greater surrender and acceptance with Venus transiting through Pisces, these days we may feel an increase in intensity and an urge to take the initiative in interactions. At this moment, the tendency will be to desire to be loved for our authenticity, to be valued for our independence and autonomy, and encouraged in our spontaneity. This will also invite us to value these qualities in others and in the relationship itself. With this increased intensity, it's natural for conflicts and ..read more

Mercury is slowing down now, as it approaches its station on Monday to go retrograde until 25th April. It entered the ‘pre-shadow period’ on 18th March, which is the period of time it spends going forward through the degrees of the zodiac that it will soon retrograde backwards through. So we might already be feeling the retrograde atmosphere of confusions, delays and misunderstandings which can throw us off track during the three weeks of the retrograde period itself. How can we use this period constructively? Mercury retrograde reminds us that there may be another perspective to consider, wh ..read more

Mars entered Pisces today! As Mars embodies the archetype of the warrior, in Pisces we can think of a Tai Chi fighter, poetic in movement, fluid, and subtle. It's the peaceful warrior, the soldier for peace. At its extreme, it's also the fanatic martyr. At a time when the Sun is transiting through Aries, Mars' territory, where the impulse for action is predominant, this Mars in Pisces asks for delicacy and intuition. It's necessary to perceive the big picture and feel the flow of situations to identify the right moment and the appropriate way to act. Confronting issues impulsively in search o ..read more

Happy Spring Equinox Everyone! The Sun is now in Aries and the tide has well and truly turned towards spring for those of us in the northern hemisphere. The energy of Aries is expressed by this sign’s totem animal, the ram – an image of spontaneous vitality. We can all find ways to move with the flow of this, participating in the Aries symbolism with intention. It’s a time of rebirth and growth, a festival of awakening, drawing us out of our winter retreat and inviting us to think about what new projects we want to put our hearts into now, with all the verve and confidence of Cardinal Fire. On 21st April (UT), there will be an exact conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus at 21 degrees Taurus – the current Jupiter-Uranus cycle, which began in 2011, is reaching its close. The Sun, today at 11 degrees Aquarius, is on its way from a square to Jupiter (exact on 27th January) towards a square to Uranus (exact on 8th February) – translating the light between the two, to use a term from traditional astrology. Jupiter and Uranus have yet to form their conjunction, yet ahead of this we are currently in a period where they are connected by the go-between action of the Sun, like a matchmaker mak ..read more

Venus entered the sign of Capricorn today! Despite the Sun and Pluto having already moved into Aquarius, we still have Mars and Mercury in Capricorn, joined now by Venus, and it will be the last planet to leave this sign on February 16, closing this Capricornian period during which we've been confronted with successive doses of realism. Now, with Venus in the mix, the theme of relationships will also reflect this focus, calling for more definition, structure, planning, commitment, and resilience. Capricorn teaches us the gift of perseverance, which can help us navigate obstacles and overcome c ..read more
