Lower roof is an added-on patio cover, which is why the slope reduces.  It was added over a year ago, but just recently leaked for the first time.  I discovered that the contractor did not cover the entire roof with ice & water membrane.  He added it under the transition from the existing room and along the perpendicular side (beneath the gutter).  It extends up behind the gutter and under the shingles above the gutter. Hi, I just had my roof replaced through an insurance claim (great price for me!).  One of the things the roofer mentioned when they replaced it was that there were too many vents on my vaulted ceiling area (i have soffit vents and a ridge vent).  I got the same feedback from a different roofer who contracted.    The day I returned home from work to find the finished product, I saw vents replaced EXACTLY where they were before.  When the QC person showed up I mentioned this and he said yes it was odd they did that and it would not be normal.   Questions: 1 ..read more
