A/C HVAC advice ?

We plan to replace our 3 ton A/C unit with a heat pump designed to work in conjunction with our oil burning furnace. The heat pump will be the principal heat source until the outside temperature drops to 30 degrees or so, at which point the oil burner will take over. We’ve received several estimates from HVAC companies, including American Air Systems and Gunstock HVAC. American Air Systems proposes a Bosch heat pump (model # BOVA 36HDN1-M18M) and Gunstock has proposed a Samsung unit (model SAMCCXH36UPB). Would appreciate feedback from anyone who has received services (including new installat ..read more

I have an older VRV II-S system RXYMQ-M. There were four ducted FXSQ-M units connected and recently I replaced one air handler due to coil failure. The new air handler is FXMQ-TB. With this upgrade I added Nav controller BRC1E73. Now I have two Nav BRC1E71 controllers (one controls two FXSQ air handlers the other controls one FXSQ) and one 1E73 unit that controls the new FXMQ. I’m looking for the fan off field setting when thermo is off for the new FXMQ air handler. I have it set properly in heat mode (22-3-3) and I thought the correct off fan setting in cooling was 22-6-3, but the fan does n ..read more

Hi just replaced 2 compressors on a REQ16P8 feeding 11 indoor units run the system in heating and I’m getting liquid flooding back /low (0°C to 1°c) superheat on the suction line, this is coming back from the indoor units (suction line visibly freezing on the suction pipe within the roof space and at the suction service valves of the outdoor unit). All the pipe work is not easily accessible. in a couple of the rooms I can hear gas/liquid rushing through the indoor units even though they are switched off. I have shut the system down as not happy leaving it running & risking the new compre ..read more
